I used to only fill up at Citgo and encouraged others to do so as well to slightly curb funnelling money to the mid-east, until Chavez started his rants.

I would walk or hybrid-it, but then I'm only playing into the far-left environmentalists hands.

I care about the environment and all, but realistically, there are many industries that dwarf the cumulative auto emissions of the world. That, and a properly maintained V12 truck with 42" super-swampers and 250,000 miles on it would probably pollute far less than a 4-banger with leaky seals, sludge-for-oil, rusty radiator, a hermetic seal for an air filter, and deflated tires. Oh, how I hate deflated tires. And I see plenty of them.

Basically, they'll take my car (and my gun) from my cold, dead hands. Don't even get me started on how much harm is done to the environment just formulating the chemicals to go in hybrid and electric cars' batteries. You'll help the environment much more by driving a 3-cylinder car or taking mass transit than bringing electricity into the equation.

Don't let this remark hijack this thread, either. Go about your business, rant over....

Oh, yeah, and maybe the super-swampers were a bit of a hyperbole, too.

$2.15 a gallon for me this week. (BP/Amoco)

But I can't understand why K-1 kero is selling so high for? Citgo is selling it for $3.29 a gallon!

Can you put cam2 in any vehicle? Sure you don't want to use it in a daily driver but high performance vehicles straight from the factory.

Filled up here in the UK yesterday with 98 RON [actually equivalent to 93 or 95 octane across the pond due to different standards] yesterday at 92p per litre = £4.18/gallon = $7.41/gallon at todays exchange rate

It is $2.30 here for regular at the cheap stations. Then again, NC has the fourth highest gas prices in the US. Luckily my car gets about 29 miles to a gallon, hopefully it will keep running (been having car problems lately).

Gas here in Kansas City was 2.08 last night to 2.22 this morning! Glad I ride the bus to work. 11 bucks a month to ride.

OK, now this is just getting crazy, $2.12 a gallon, yes it has been higher but gas has been over $2.00 for a couple months now and the oil companies are only increasing their profits more and more every time the price of gas/natural gas goes up. It has been a warm winter and natural gas is still high as well.

OK, just needed to vent a little.

Well, hopefully by the time it's gone we will have cars that use other means of propulsion, and we will still be detailing them.

    They say.....
When Americans start using a lot of gas.... like at the start of the winterperiod......
The oil producing countries can't produce enough, thus the prices rize.

The link between Europe and the USA is that the consuming market overseas is enormous.
    Little comparisations...

Here we drive small cars, Volkswagen Polo, Honda's..... wich drive a lot of miles per gallon.
"You" guys drive big trucks, (sorry for the stereotyping) with less and less miles per gallon.

Our houses are maximum sealed to keep the warmth inside, and the cold inside..... houses are always made of 80% brick and cementmortar....
When I see your houses on TV, a lot is made from wood....
So, to keep your houses warm, you have to heat it a lot more than we do......

In all, this means, with the millions of people living in the USA, the oil consumption is high (compared it's very high).

About the people driving lesser miles....
Although our gasprices are over 3 times higher than yours, we don't use the bus more often.
It's not notice-able lesser people take the car......

    Strange thing, these gas prices.....
Wow that's annoying. What do your gas prices have to do with us? That sounds like an excuse.

But, can you notice people driving less when the prices rize?
I can notice me driving less, lol. When we had the post-Katrina spike, I took the bus until the gas prices settled down. I hate the bus, but it's *really* convenient from where I live. It takes me straight to the subway station which is where I drive to anyway, plus it also saves me the $4 parking fee.

I did notice that the bus was a lot more packed than it was last time I took it (about a year ago) but I have no way of knowing if that was because of the gas prices or not.

This is what I allways thought what would happen....

When prices go up, the gasstations immideatly raise the prices. Their stock is never mentioned..... but when prices go down.... ik takes ages before the gasstations follow.
