    Re: Ultimate Polish

So, Michael, I know that UC and UP are designed for use by hand or DA. What about a rotary at steady low speed (600 RPM) via Makita 9227?

That's what I'm looking for, especially with UP being such a new product with so little in the way of real world experience available to draw from.

Quite possibly, but we'd still do a test spot or two in order to determine what really works best. There just isn't any way to say with absolute certainty via computer how that paint is going to react, so the best we can do is give you a starting point. The rest is up to you.

What are you looking to accomplish with it?
    • Light to moderate swirls on fairly soft paint - yellow pad, speed 5, moderate pressure
    • Light swirls on very delicate paint - black pad, speed 4, moderate to light pressure
    • Refine paint that is almost perfect, or as a follow up to UC - black pad, speed 4, moderate pressure

There are quite a few options beyond this, depending on your ultimate (no pun intended) goal. Experiment a bit, do a test spot, get a feel for the product and how your paint responds to it.

This is great! Now, I can just buy a bottle of this, in place of my M205, when I run out.

I understand that DC is Pure while UP has SMAD .. But all these new products make me feel like a 4 year old when he sees an ice-cream truck .. No matter how much I had back at home I always wanted more and the new one !!

Immediately after removing the polish is completely fine. No reason to wait!

DC Polish is a different product than Ultimate Polish. DC polish is a pure polish indicating no abrasives wherewas Ultimate Polish makes use of fine abrasives and SMAT to remove light imperfections and restore gloss.

Both contain a lot of polishing oils though.
