Meximum, I'm sorry to say that you can never take out sanding marks with a ROB/DA. You definitely need a rotary, wool cutting pad and #85 to work it out, and the gloss will reappear within seconds. After compounding, you still need to use a rotary with cutting/polishing pad to remove wool mark. Before applying wax, you can start to use ROB/DA to remove holograms using polishing/finishing pad with #80 or #82. Lastly, use ROB/DA to apply wax in a breeze...Get a rotary once you feel that you need the tool to go one step further...

New Honda Accord 2.0
Took a day off and collected my dad's new Honda Accord 2.0 Silverstone metallic colour. Before leaving dealer's lot, I inspected the paintwork under the sun. There are spots of buffer holograms. There's also abit of wax residue here and there on the finish.
3:30PM - Reach home and took off all interior plastic wraps, lets car cool down
4:30PM - Wash with NXT Shampoo
Found out only horizontal panels have water beading effect, water sheets on other panels
5:45PM - Found out a blur spot on the rear bumper, suspect is paint overspray. Clayed that area, claybar turned black! After the paintwork feel smooth, I use Scratch-X for a couple of passes, and the gloss is fully restored. All by hand!
6:30PM - Clayed bonnet, roof, boot and windscreen, applied Rain-X on glass.
7:30PM - Dinner
8:00PM - Applied #80 using W-8006 with ROB on bonnet, roof and boot. Sealed it up with NXT Tech Wax. Very smooth and glossy feeling.
9:00PM - Managed to remove buffer hologram spots on the right rear fender using ROB/#80/W-9006. Excellent result!
10:00PM - Applied Hot Shine on tires. The car now has the cleanest wheel fender in its entire life span.
10:20PM - Packed everything and took the last pic
I wouldn't say I hate prepping up a new car, but sometimes there're things which shouldn't be there. I'm fortunate that DISO doesn't come along with this car. I have lots more to go with the door panels, fenders, and bumpers. The paint is in mint condition with no pittings, no pinholes, no micro-blisters, no acid-rain etching, no bird-dropping etching, no tree-sap blemish, etc...so it's better to seal it up as soon as possible. Silverstone colour is an easy maintenance colour, not as light as silver, and not as dark as black. Perfectly suitable for daily drivers.

Rusty Bumper, thanks!
Meximum, thanks! I send you a PM regarding the price of a Makita 9227c. Seems like somebody is poisoned out there, NOT only you...

Got some daytime photo but not a quality one. Under the sun it's swirl-free with M80 + NXT treatment.
Advantages of working with light color paint.

Certain parts of the new car are not detailed yet, so I spend some good time to finish it up. I also managed to apply second layer of M21. Some areas receive a new layer of M21 over the previous NXT layer.
Wash (NXT Shampoo)
Wheel well washing (Safe Degreaser)
Clay
M80/W-8006/DA
M21/MF pad/DA
Tyre dressing (Hot Shine)
Trim dressing (GC Trim Detailer)

Stonechip free bumper (at the moment)
Right before I wax my lower door panels, I found out this ugly paint chip on the painted door strip. This car is handled very well, I guess it must be done at the dealer lot.
Maybe it's time to get a small bottle of touch-up paint. Overall, I'm very satisfied with M21 in terms of durability, ease of application and the wet-look which it provides.

Hi vbfd946, unfortunately it's very hard to get other sizes of backing plate for DW443. You have to source for backing plate manufacturer to custom make one for you.

xjdmb16a2six, thanks! Using M80/W-8006/DA could reduce alot of swirls till an acceptable level. However, if the swirls are too heavy, especially on Mercedes, you need to use RB (Rotary Buffer) to do the job.
24DNT, wish that your stuffs reaching soon, I know you can't wait for it.
Just got some pic of my car today, sorry for poor lighting.
