Why don't they use those things at night?

It seems like waste to run a sprinkler in the sunshine. I don't think it's good for the grass, or the plants.

Or our cars! A lot of sprinklers for some reason are set to run in the morning, right during the morning commute. They could just as easily run at 3:00 in the morning!

Where I live the sprinklers I'm talking about are for almond orchardsand run two to three days at a time and My bro in law has three so when I visit I dodge sprinklers the ones near the road have small "fences" attatched to them so they spray on the property. the vast majority will sray as far as the other side of the road and some ground water has salt in it. Very bad for the finish

Sprinklers are the worst. In Florida, they will etch your paint like crazy due to the salt and sulfur, if the water spots aren't removed quickly.

I park my rides in front of my office window, so I can watch for dummies who may do something stupid. Or I park in front of my office and take up two spots. Both places are semi-shaded by oaks, but I don't park directly under them. I remove any contaminants when I leave work with the QD in the trunk.

I put my Meguiar's sunshade up to protect the interior and to give a little free advertising. Summers are hot, humid, and brutal down here.

Just think... I am 350 to 400 miles south of Memphis and Northern Mississippi. A 89 degree day here with our humidity feels like 100 degrees. Plus, the temperatures are generally between the 90 to 95 degree range from July to September.

In fact it was so humid Monday evening that the NXT Tech Protectant that I was applying to my wife's 4Runner's trim wasn't penetrating the trim and condensing on it. When I came into the house, my wife asked me if I had been playing with the water hose because I was soaked in sweat from head to toe just piddling around trimming out our cars.

I detailed a small car while I was out there.....Mistake!.......I wound up getting sick not long after that.

Actually, it gets pretty hot around here in summer, but the humidity is not quite as bad as the lowlands. We are about 1000 feet above sea level, and that can make a big difference comfort wise.

I think Columbia, SC is about the hottest place around here.

                    Scott:

I don't think that Meguiar's has the sunshades anymore. I bought mine directly from Meguiar's probably 7 or 8 years ago. I have been using in my 1993 Grand Prix eversince. Like most all of Meguiar's products, well made and works well.

At home: the vehicles go in the garage.

At the firehouse: there are plenty of parking spaces, so I tend to park away from other vehicles. In the winter, I will park so the vehicle faces southeast to take advantage of the sun's warmth in melting frost off the windshield.

At the Fire Academy: This can be tricky.. if there are a a lot oif programs going on, I try to get there as early as I can and park in the far end of the lot. It all depends on the wind direction, too as on burn days the smoke from the fires in the burn building can drift on the wind, so I make sure the windows are closed so the vehicle does not smell like "Eau de Conflagration". On fire extinguisher training days, I also check the wind and park well away from the potential drifting of dry chemical fire extinguishing agent... It's corrosive over time.

In the rest of the world: as far away from the door as possible. I will drop Mrs. Gonz off at the door and park in timbuthree or further!

Another reason I drive a beater...

                            Thanks for the tip!

If I decide to attend the local college, then I'll try to park a long ways from the fire academy over there.

You can see the smoke for a good 5 to 10 miles away when their training.........Even the Army Special Forces raided the joint one night.

I heard all kinds of noise in the sky last week at night. I went outside and there were choppers everywhere! The next day, the paper said that the Army Special Forces (Green Berets) flew in from Ft. Bragg and held maneuvers at the fire dept. training grounds at the college nearby. I would have loved to have seen that

You can certainly afford to drive it to work under those conditions.
