Have you considered using a duster and a good QD like Speed Detailer on the days that you don't wash. I am not familiar with the nature of airport fallout so my advice may not apply. But it would be interesting to see if Speed Detailer would help in your situation.

Yes a trip to Irvine might be just What the doctor ordered Any way, yes I hate when they feel the need to water the road Also I live in a farming area and as a result I get the whole array of chemicals and dust as well as hay grain and way from surrounding dairies making car care a full time job. Glad it's fu and easy with these cool products from Meguiars

Yes I have used the California Car Duster, but didn't like the results. I am an avid user of QD's like Speed Detailer. I, personally, like the Mist and Wipe with a microfiber.

I like going over the car with the California Duster just before I use the QD or Speed Detailer, especially when there's a lot of dust build-up. I'm afraid that if there is too much dust, wiping the QD will drag the dust along the car. The flip side of that argument is that the duster can sctratch the finish, but I haven't noticed any sctratching yet.

As far as vandalism in car lots, I don't think that getting keyed is a concern. Think about who keys cars: 1) someone who doesn't like you or 2) some punk kids. If you have to deal with #1, he/she may search for your car. However, more likely of the two is the latter, and no kid is going to pass all the cars in the lot and go to your car all the way in the back just to key a car. If they want to steal something, however, that's a whole different story.

Your point about the CA Car Duster is a very good one! I view the duster as an intermediate step and is almost always followed by Speed Detailer.

The duster never scratched my black TA, and it scratched very easily. Black still rules all colors though.

I can't wait to get a Meguiars Duster I need a good in between step THEN on to the QD. I really like really quick detailers and wouldn't be without them but I hesitate to use them on my black truck when I have a light coating of dust. It seems the duster might be a better option!?!?

Yes, the duster is good for lifting off the vast majority of the dust so you can finish up with a QD. IMHO this reduces the chance of scratching. I have instilled more scratches on my car from washing than from the duster + QD. And the newer QDs like Speed Detailer are so slick that helps reduce the chance of marring the paint.

How many of you keep a duster at work to use during the day? I am thinking of doing this as my car accumulates a lot of dust sitting in the parking lot. I already have a bottle of Final Detail at work for "emergencies" like bird droppings. I keep some Ultimate Wipe microfiber towels in the car. I don't keep the Final Detail in the car because it gets so hot in the summer that the bottle starts to deform.

I could keep the duster in the trunk, but would it's performance not be hampered when it's hot due to the wax on the strands?

I've kept my Cal. duster under the back seat for a year now, no problems noted. It gets to 95 F in the summer and 5 F in the winter.

Thanks for the info. I may just keep one in my trunk then. It will probably keep cooler in the trunk than in the car where the solar energy heats everything up.

Yeah, it really is. I'm very appreciative of my job and the great parking.

And I'm never running late when I park far away, because the cars I park there all have V8's!

I hate sprinklers! They can leave nasty water spots on the paint! Whenever we get sprinkler water spots we should be paid damages!
