    Like I said revenue enhancement....

I live near this town and I avoid it. If they are not careful they will end up like Mack Creek, kaput.

This seems like revenue enhancement not safety.

Does no one's car have cruise control?

I've been driving for many years and I don't have to stare at my speedo to maintain my speed. It takes a split second to glance at my speedo to check my speed. Really its no different than checking my mirrors every 15 seconds or so. I realize no one does that anymore, either.

Are you saying the prima facia speed limit isn't the maximum allowed speed on that stretch of road?

I thought it was crazy too! Lol. So i guess i can do 79 mph in a posted 70 mph zone and not really worry about a ticket. Lol

    Unbelievable!

Very strange... perhaps the administration/court costs exceeds the revenue.
Or... the courts would be full.
Just looking for a reason to consider this logical.

At that time the radar detector will go crazy but it will be too late. I am 34 now so my lead foot is gone and I have stopped trying to beat the law. I put a front liscense plate on my car because I am tired of getting pulled over for no front plate even though I hate the way they look. I will not have front tinted windows because it is illegal in Illinois and I got tired of getting pulled over and trying to fight the law.

For me it is so much easier to follow the speed limit than deal with a radar detector. Plus you have to keep it out of sight from potential thieves.....just one more thing I have to worry about!

Good luck with yours though. I am sure the modern detectors are much better than the ones I have tested from years ago, let me know how well it works for you!
I will have to disagree with u on one this. Instant on radar is instant. But from what i've been told, that with a good detector, u can often pick up" leftovers" from other shots towards different cars. And it did well today on the 2hr drive home. It was set and didn't go off until we near a four way stop. It started beeping a k band alert. Then we look over the the officer was looking for stop sign runners i think it will do well. And im not too worried about theft. It will be hardwired behing my tint strip and i also have a$ 1200 security system on my car so hopefull that will help

    Why?

The issue I see with this is... you feel there is nothing wrong with doing 2-3 over. The next person feels there is nothing wrong with doing 5-10 over. The next person feels there is nothing wrong with doing 2-3 over the average speed. Then you get some people who are stupid enough to think that as long as you are passing someone, you're not speeding.

There are another set of people that you get. Those that feel their experience, their vehicle (ie. sport car/bike), or the great road conditions entitle them to speed. "Those limits are just there for worst case scenarios... that's not the case with me".

The speed limit is the limit. It's not the recommended speed, it's the legal limit.

So I ask you with all seriousness, why does it seem "fair" that you should be allowed to travel 2-3 MPH over the limit?

Before you answer, I just want to note that there is a big difference between margin of error and knowingly traveling x%/amount faster than than the posted limit.

To me it's this sense of "entitlement" that is the root of a huge issue.
