As far as I'm concerned all of my posts and pics can go in to ciber space, If it makes any difference.
maybe it's time to upgrade the system security to vbulletin 3.0.3.
Hell I would even pay to come hang out with you guys and gals.
lock all the doors and windows but that would not be fair to the rest of the world.
    just venting.

I don't think the gallery is functioning, Mike. I tried to upload some images and they never make it. I get no error messages after I hit the submit button. After a few seconds the screen comes up stating Meguiar's Photo Gallery Message but there is no message and the photo is not in the gallery.

          That stinks.

What kind of horse's patootie comes in here and deletes all of the great pictures and killer information posted here???

Go delete the cat lovers forum, or someplace like that. There's nothing over there that mankind can't live without anyway...

            Oh my god that *****...

I am in the IT buisiness too... maybe it would be worth for keeping a mirror site as backup. ( for the people who don't understand: A mirror is an location with a server provided with again the database and the website. if one location fails to service the users, they will be redirected to the other MIRROR site so you can read and post...) offcourse you need a heartbeat or synchronization between the two servers and sites.
wouldn't that be a good idea.... i had many options in all this

well keep it in mind and for the rest good luck with all

p.s. wich firewall do you have? Cisco is a good recommendation
a PIX firewall with intrusion detection and stuff

              You're welcome Mike.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting that type of a response......... on the other hand, I'm not surprised.

                  Hey Boss,

                  Long time no see!

Anyway, just to clarify, I think you may have taken Mike's comment the wrong way. I know Mike is very glad that people are both supportive and patient while we work through the hacker's damage. I know I can speak for Mike on this, we really appreciate good people like yourself on MOL. And while my feelings tend to echo yours in terms of the hackers, in the end, it would be impossible to do anything to them. Unless cement boots count!! Just kiddn'!

                    Tim,

Thanks for the clarification. I know how frustrated Mike must have felt. Keeping a website like this up and running, organized, and responding to many of the threads is an enormous, and time consuming job. I'm sure Mike would like to get that hacker in a closed room for about a half hour or so!

Anyhow, I apologize to Mike, and all the folks here at MOL for my misunderstanding his response, and for my "off the cuff" remark.

                      Good luck.
I re-read what you posted and my reply and had a good laugh!

When I meant I appreciated your thoughtfulness, I meant where you wrote you were glad to see the site was back up and running, not the part about giving the people behind the hacking a serious beating...

Well, I must say, that beats it all!...Looks like people with that kind of expertise would try to use it for constructive purposes, instead of deleting hard working people's databases!

It's amazing how much effort it takes to build something, and so little time to tear it down.

Actually that is what these type of people think, that they are doing...constructive purposes. They hack into the hardrives and store information on them for others and before anybody can catch them the information is erased by the ones that need to read it. That way they can use "free" space and get there "important" info to the "other" people. It is a sick world.

I just got an e-mail today from U.S. Bank (Supposedly), and they wanted me to update my financial information online!

I smelled a rat and forwarded it to abuse @ Yahoo.com.
