Oh yeah, I love shinin' cars, too.
Do you detail your patrol car too? I always wondered that. Indiana State Troopers get to take their cars home. They periodically have inspections and I wondered if they were required to keep their cars waxed and polished. And theirs are black too!

Back on topic, I am an electrical engineer. I only detail my own cars and help family members with theirs.

          Sergeant for LAPD

Have detailed cars on the side for 14 years/ did it full time 4 years in Orange County, Ca. while at CSUF. Payed well and detailing is a stress reliever for me. It's cool to have people stoked on your work rather than the usual negative drama that comes in my primary job.

I am a Sergeant with a large Southern California Sheriff's Department. To tell you the truth RamAir, when I was a homicide detective and had a take home car, everyone at work joked about how shiny and highly polished my county Taurus was!! Much like Sarge, I got into working on cars as a stress relief from the job.

                Re: What's your profession?

I've been in public accounting (CPA) for ten years now. My life is pretty much work when tax season hits, which is right now, but I enjoy the work (just not the extended hours).

I am one of four Deputy Fire Chiefs in the Marlborough Fire Department. I also work at the Massachuestts Fire Academy, a freelance writer/reporter for a local newspaper ( covering fires and fire safety) and I have my automotive detailing venture on the side.

Detailing is a paying hobby for me.. it helps finance vacataions and flying lessons!

I am a telecommuncations engineer for Indiana University, I do some structured cabling and networking work on the side as well as detailing work. I can honestly say that detailing is the hardest physically, but it also gives me the most satisfaction when finished. It's a great stress reliever for me...

I am a college student studying accounting, work as a bellman for the Hyatt Regency, and detail on the side. The bellman job has helped in getting many detailing jobs for guests that are lookin for a good wash. We have some of the Detroit Lions players stay with us through the season so I have made my mark with them....just hoping I can get some more players!!!

I am a manager for Pottery Barn Kids and I too managed a Blockbuster for many years. They have fallen on hard times and that's why I left after many years.

Well, up until just a few weeks ago I was an outside sales rep for a direct response marketing production company - now I'm the Sales Manager.

Oh yeah, what we call direct response marketing, you guys would affectionately call junk mail.
