Labor Day was created by Labor Unions to show solidaridy and it was picked as the first Monday in September because it is halfway between July 4th and Thanksgiving. The first Labor Day was celebrated on Sept. 5th 1882 in New York. Many states made it a holiday before President Cleveland made it a Federal Holiday during his tenure as President (1884-1888).

Probably Christmas. I don't like all the holiday rush, but I do enjoy listening to holiday music, especially the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
