Did anyone receive their prize?
I got a box yesterday from Brian Smith in Portland , TN.
It was very light.
I was expecting some stuffed animals I bought on eBay.
I opened it up and there was another box inside. It said "applicator pads". I didn't order any applicator pads so I thought maybe it was something from eBay and someone had reused a Meguiar's box. I thought, "cool, another Meguiar's fan."
So I opened it.
It was full of applicator pads. Like a lifetime supply of applicator pads, now that I use my DA polisher.
I thought the three prizes were a trunk tote and two different sized bags. I have a trunk tote so I really needed a bag big enough to hold my DA polisher and pads. I choose the G1000.
While I can put the polisher in the applicator pad box, I could have just kept it in the box it came in. In fact, I think I still have that box.
I think there is probably a limited shelf life for applicator pads. After a few years they probably lose some of their bounce and suppleness. I expect in my hot garage they would dry out and crack after a few years. That's just plain wasteful. And I just don't have anyone to give them to. Not that many.
I'm going to go ahead and mail these back to Brian with a thank you note. It was really great to offer prizes for the contest. It was really the thought that counted. I was thrilled to win. Someone else can put these pads to use. They would just stiffen and decay in my garage over the years. I'll buy a few as needed. I already have half a dozen new and unused ones now.
So thank you everyone. It was fun. I enjoyed the challenge. (And a few days ago I learned how to turn the flash off of my camera!)
I'm curious to hear if anyone else received anything and what did it turn out to be?
(BTW it was the TN plant that sent me a $10 quickclay kit for $30. I think they fixed that mistake....but maybe I should look through my bank statements just to make sure.)
