I'm going to try to squeeze in just before the deadline, going to detail a friends red vette in Phoenix on Sunday, and hopefully we can find some lights still up that afternoon.
The holidays have just been way to hectic to get anything else done.

          My best attempt at it.
It's raining this weekend in So. Cal. 2 storm systems moving in.
I was hoping to be at my friends house for New Years Eve and take another photo there.
Maybe there might be another opportunity before its over.
          At least I tried.

Here is my try. It was much easier for me to do the reflection shot on a panel rather than the hood. Pretty tough task though.

I agree, considering how difficult it is to get good shots in the dark, there's some pretty good entries.

Deadline to add your photos is Midnight tonight, Pacific Standard Time; I've taken our lights down already but I looked last night and a lot of the houses in our area still have their lights up so there's still time to enter the contest.

I've taken some liberties with the contest.

This has been a real challenge. It's been raining in San Diego for several days now. I didn't put up any Christmas lights this year and my parents just have one string on the roof line. I considered getting out the reindeer just for this shot but in the rain...forget it.

So I took some liberties. I'll assume Mike meant for this to be a Holiday lights contest and this being the last day of the "Festival of Lights" I got my menorah out of the school decorations box and lit it up. I don't get to light candles at school and since I'm not Jewish I never get to light it up.

I dried the car off and then tried to take pics. Turns out I have no idea how to shut the flash off of the digital camera. For those in a similar situation this was my solution. Put it on "red eye". The flash goes off and THEN the camera takes the picture. It worked for me.

BTW you'll notice my Meguiar's Car Care Kit from Target holding up the menorah. I used NXT detailer right before the shot but I've been using the Meguiar's Gold shampoo and wax.

Please excuse the messy garage. All of my classroom materials are in there since this year I'm a "librarian" and I have no classroom.

                    Long shot:

I'm impressed by her persistence and innovation, not letting obstacles get in her way.

                          Thanks.

                          To some I am innovative.

To some I think outside the box.

To some I am just plain weird.

You folks did a great job overall!

My vote goes for Richard (Octane Guy), with gb387 a close second.
