I detailed my fiancee's yellow beetle 3 weeks ago, and applied NXT 2.0. Just yesterday, I was asking her if she's been driving it, cuz the car didn't look as dirty as I expected! I was planning on pulling her car out for a wash to check out the beading of 2.0, but was so disappointed that it didn't need a wash. How funny is that?!?
Everytime I look at her car, I'm surprised how great it looks. She drives to work every day and parks in the garage (not outside), but still, after 3 weeks, I have no urge to use a quick detailer (or wash). I had to physically run a finger over her car to verify there was dirt (there was), but the point is the car looks great. Only thing I had to do was clean her windows.
Good stuff.
As for my car, I use other products (Poorboy's EX Sealant), but do top w/ #26, and now use Meguiar's UQD (a gallon just arrived last week) =) But I also park outside, which gets dirtier 10x faster, lol.
I like trying different products, but for my fiancee's car, I'm planning on sticking with NXT 2.0 with no topper (no #26).
I used NXT 2.0 on 2 vehicles and I have to agree with it being very slick but I have also noticed that the cars don't have to be washed or QD'd as often. The 2.0 lasts much longer than the original and when the cars are dirty they still have an awesome shine. Because of the sheeting action, washing and drying times have decreased allowing me more time with my 12 week old grandson! A thanks to Meguiar's and all that contribute to this forum!
I'm not one to give you a real world durability test on any wax or sealant. My cars are garaged all the time and I use UQD regularly plus I wax them every month or so. Two of them never get driven in the rain and the third has a cheap paint job on it so it will never look truly awesome, but that's why it's my foul weather car. Not that we get much foul weather here in SoCal.
That Magnum looks awesome!
I love how 2.0 makes bright colors pop and a dark colors appear wetter with depth.
What is your durability durations guys?
+1 how long is this stuff lasting?? This whole thread is about how good it makes the car look and its easy to remove but NOONE has mentioned the durability of it...
Id like to see how you guys compare the durability of it to 21!!
To be completely honest I wasn't a huge fan of the original NXT and much preferred M21/M16 on my cars.
I was exactly the same. Once I tried 21, NXT went to the back of the shelf and has been there for the last three years. After reading this thread a few days ago I figured I would give the new NXT formula a try. I was really impressed. It was very easy to apply and when on in really thin even coats. Removal has been greatly improved and wipes off with ease like 21. It left an incredibly smooth and high gloss finish. Needless to say I was very impressed. Hates off to Meguiars.
