  • Testing out the new FLEX on my girls '04 Accord

So I wanted to play around with my new FLEX polisher some more this weekend. I decided to try it out on my girls '04 Accord since it hadn't been washed in about 4-5 months.

Over all it wasn't in too bad of shape...

    -Wash
    -Clay
-Using the FLEX I spot hit the deep scratches with the new M105...this stuff rocks!
-I then went over the whole car using the FLEX with M80.
-2 thin coats of NXT 2.0

    preping...

    Scratches before and after...

would this be the Flex rotary or the Flex random orbital?

Oh yeah! I think it breaks the polish down really fast compared to the PC. It was a little hard to get used to at first though....kinda like the first time you try and use a rotary.

W8006 for both the M105 and M80. I was surprised how fast it removed those scratches!

Thanks for the rest of the comments too. It was nice to be able to work on a car again. It's the first one I've done if a 4-5 months now. I'm on Spring Break so I had some time finally. Too bad I don't get paid for working on the girls car. Well, at least not in money that is.

That's a nice rotary, very lightweight. I love mine...

Oh, nice work on the car too!

Clarification, the Flex XC3401VR is the random orbitial and the Flex L3403VRG is the rotary. They are both very nice and lightweight IMO.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with it so far. Fits nicely between my Porter Cable and Dewalt rotary. I can't imagine my rotary will see much more use.

Great to hear the 3401 is a good random orbitial, I just bought one on ebay yesterday

Did you experience any problems/issues at all with W8006 and M105? From what I've read wool is the way to go and some people have had gumming up fast and a little hazing using foam pads... also, about how long did you work about a 2x2 area with the M105 and W8006? 20 secs is the standard from what I've been hearing...?

I'm going to order some M105 soon and want to get as much info out of as many people as I can haha
