Re: *New* Meguiar's D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream Review!!!

ok, so i made a few calls locally... us Canadians don't get a lot of selection... Anyways, i even tried to find Hyper Dressing , NXT 2 , d151, etc. The guys i talked to at a couple places have not even heard of any of the products i asked for. the only thing i can find locally is M80, so at least that's a start.

looks like I have to order it and have the stuff i want shipped up here.

I just did a detail on a Sienna minivan with D151 and I intentionally used it on the mirrors to test this theory out...

funny results much? Toyota used TWO different types of plastic on the halves of the mirror, on one half it HELPED to darken the plastic, and the other half reacted in the worst way possible

I got it all cleaned off, but learned my lesson. Like Meguiars always suggests...TEST it in an inconspicuous area first!

To be honest, I do not know as I do everything I can to avoid getting any product on the trim. I did ask and was told that as long as it does not sit on there too long, it should be OK. Of course, older trim will be more susceptible for staining.

In all honesty, even for quick detail jobs, the real key is to slow down and avoid anything that could potential cause a problem. I do not tape if I am using a DA, unless the vehicle has huge door gaps or something that potential could become a problem...

But when using a rotary, I always take the extra time to tape.

If it's possible to layer a wax/sealant over it, which ones are recommended?

There will be no issues at all as Meguiar's products are designed to work together. So topping the D151 with a Meg's wax or sealant will not be a problem!
