Megs products are excellent . What applicator pads and towels are you using?

I would say its either poor quality pads towels. Have you clayed the car first? Megs smooth surface clay kit is excellent.

Please give us a step by step of your process. You may need to tweek your technique a little.

      Re: Multiple products damage finish

I apologize if you have already read through this but here is an excellent thread written by our forum moderator, Mike Stoops, covering this very issue.

Meguiar's has many products for jobs like this, because like I mentioned before, there is no magic bullet for this type of thing. Correcting paint can range from easy as pie to incredibly complicated and difficult at times.

Again, I understand and appreciate your frustration - imagine having this occur on a client's car...it's even worse! We'll get this figured out.

For now, as Mur suggested, I highly suggest calling customer care and having someone help you. Communicating over forums can add frustration in and of itself, so why not give them a call and see if they can sort it out and get you going in the right direction.

The number is listed on the back of the products.

tried that.. worhtless... guy tells me well if you used swirlx thats about as delicate as we have to offer.. you might need to just take it to a professional......

lots of help there.. i just tried the products i mentioned with just a foam pad and i found some cleaner wax and tried it too.. wax covers up most of it but i dont want to cover it up i want to fix it then wax it.. i read that long article i might have to try the color x.. after that im not sure what else to do.. i could have already had it fixed professionally for the money i have in products that i probably wont use again

It just might take ten hours.

You cannot expect a high gloss swirl free finish & clean Sierra in "one hour or less"

                    These things take time.

If I were you I would start over and give the truck a good wash & clay treatment, then go over the truck with a cleaner wax such as M06 or ColorX.

Although unless its badly marred I am suprised you are able to see such bad marring on a metallic paint.

Your posts are not helping much either as I have no idea if you are talking about the whole truck or just a spot on the fender ,you just seem to blame all the products but I think it may be your technique.

                        I agree with Tuck.

I have a Black Pearl VW. I spent 5 days last year and 3 days this year. And now it is flawless. Last year it was around 80% swirl free. Now its 100% swirl free. You have picked the hardest colour to maintain. I have been detailing cars for well over 15 yrs and all I can say once you have a process that works you will be fine. I would suggest going to one of Mike's open classes. As they seem a great help to people.

                              Hi outsidershot23,

I just spoke with Brian Hann, a customer care specialist (he chimed in earlier in this thread as well). He is going to get in touch with you via private message and work with you to resolve your concerns.

Please hang tight while he contacts you. Hopefully we can get this figured out soon enough.

Theres hundreds of good pad and product combos out there.

But you wont know how well any of them will work until you start using it on the surface of the truck.

A PCXP and/or G110 & a good assortment of pads & products will run you about $350 - $500. Maybe more depending on what you want and where you buy.

Just so you know the products you recently bought and have on hand are not a waste of money as they most likely could still be used on their own or with a combination of other products.

I understand your frustrated but I just do not think your getting the fact that it may be your technique and not the products that is the problem, and I am not basing this statement solely on your "Mothers" comment in the other thread.

Why go out and spend more money on more products when what you currently have just may work when used properly.
