Re: One of the worst things you can do....

You'd be surprised. Even a much less aggressive product than UC can, if applied aggressively enough, cut all the way down to the color coat - we've seen people do it. The problem usually arises when trying to remove something really deep, like a bad etching from a bird dropping or a very deep but short scratch. People go at with a lot of passion and an aggressive applicator like a piece of terry cloth, and rub like crazy in that very small space. Before you know it, they're through the clear. Never say never.

Dont feel bad ,I made that error once also.

Partly because I had both wax and compound in the same type bottles!

I remember thinking" I just clayed ,why am I getting such a drag on the paint! "

I think we can all recall times when we grabbed the incorrect product and sprayed something where it need not go! I am redesigning my show products and planning to use those carriers like you do for cleaning the house. I want to keep things
seperated so I don't ever mix them up. Sometimes in the excitment of showing you grab the incorrect product. I normally took a large bucket and filled it up with everything - more danger of making a mistake. This year two carriers and seperate the detailers from the other products - thus hopefully no mistakes!

This is something I think we all do. I have grabbed my compound bottle quite a few times by mistake, but i always catch myself before I put it on the car, even though i have put some on the pad I use to buff with before

u think that is the worst thing u can do listen to this

long time ago when i saw UC for the first time i saw on the label half part swirled out and the other part is shiny so i bought it

then i put some on the applicator and spread it on the hood and left it then i put more and finished the whole car !!

then i waited about 20 minutes to make sure it dries 0.o then when i tried to wipe it it was as hard as nails to wipe - i used both of my hand to wipe it !

but thankfully i did that to my old car which is oxidized and swirled out single stage white

now that is one heck of a mistake

Thats really not a huge mistake. Your fine. Dont even worry about removing a layer of the paint. Unless you sat there and buffed it on you really did not do any damage besides wasting product. Also thats why I never buy a liquid.
