Wow, that was a happy ending... 1st price

So you pretty much cut the oxidation with #83 while using #7 to nourish the paint, and then going over the whole car using ColorX as a final cleaner/polish (and for protection)? Just trying to get the exact process

Thanks Folks! The key to any product is surface prep. I worked with #83 for many hours and used a generous amount of #7 as well. I think the ColorX provided additional oils in this starved paint. IF...big IF..the owner will properly wash and maintain the car, ColorX will provide a long lasting finish.

A lot of folks (myself included) tend to "jump" on the latest product. But now I step back and look at the vehicle and think about what is this vehicle's lifestyle? Show, work, cruise, competition? Then I try to make an educated decision for giving the owner the best product choice.

Here's a shot at the show with my Mach 1 next to the Countach.

It certainly was a challenging job...but I got a lot of personal satisfaction from the results.

A detailer's BEST compliment! The owner of the Countach took a 1st Place trophy in the 1972-1985 Original Car field of 154 cars.

It was a fine way to finish a lot of hard work.

WOW great job, SS paint can really be brought back to life in a lot of cases. The owner will save a ton of cash just having the really dead areas spotted in.

Kelly: he's picking up the car at 7:30 Am...then driving to Oak Grove MO for a local show. I'll probably chase him over there in the Mach 1.

I gotta say folks: If you haven't used Meg's Color X in a while, it's a fantastic product! Especially for paint like this. It's too bad the roof is beyond repair (as well as a few other spots).

I may end up putting a quick coat of M21 tonight (the owner picks up the car tomorrow morning).
