Yes, Ultimate Compound, and Ultimate Polish.

Harbor Freight sells their d/a buffer at a very reasonable price, especially considering they offer coupons all the time - if a store is accessible to you.

When discussing amount of product, it's important to have "enough" product on the pad. The idea is to get the abrasives in the product rolling around between the polish and the pad. Too much, and it will be "hyper-lubricated", and the pad will sort of hydroplane over the paint. Too little product, and the liquid will "flash" too quickly, and there won't be enough abrasives to work on the paint.

      Thanks for confirmation.
I will see what my total come to with the coupon. So UC is for a da and M100 is for a rotary.
I am waiting for Black Friday sales there but I can't just hold this car for another week.
And that is also the only store I see the m100s at. But they do not have m100/101.
I find the UC and UP for around $10 but am not sure if it will remove the 2k scratches with ease.

Yes, M100 was specifically designed for rotary with a wool pad, but works great on a d/a with foam or microfiber pads.

I don't really recommend my techniques for removing sanding marks on a d/a, so I'll just say to use what everyone else is recommending. However, I believe Ultimate Compound will eliminate them.

Thanks. I will probably try both out and see what works the fastest and removes the sanding marks faster

M100 is not sold in stores. It can be purchased online or at a local detailing store like detailing.com. It can be used with both a DA and rotary. I have been using it with a DA lately and Meguiar's new thin burgundy cutting pad. It has more cut than ultimate compound. It does dust a little more than UC. But the working time of M100 is much better than M105. Almost as close to the working time of UC.

M105 has a slight learning curve to it.

Mike Stoops had a post on here about removing 3000 grit sanding marks. It may have been in his sema thread from last year. From what I recall it was done with a DA, M100 and microfiber cutting pads. If I find it I will post it.

Harbor Freight also sells a DA that is decent. Just needs a better backing plate.

By the way UC/UP are great products. I rarely use them now a days. I usually use M100, M101 or D300 followed by M205. Lately it's been M100 and M205.

M205 is much more versatile product compared to UP. It has more correction than UP. Where as UP has more polishing oils.

Thanks for the info The Guz! From what you wrote I am understanding, UC is similar or equivalent to m100?
i cant order anything online only because it will take days to get here.
maybe in the future I'll order some m100 because the way you mention its power and replacement for M105, I need it to speed things up. but I need some compound this weekend.
              So
i guess it comes down to what will remove 2k scratches faster with a DA, m105 or UC?
The UC is 1/3 the price so maybe that will work for now while I order the m100?
I will get the m205 for finishing. Just not sure what Cutting Compound to get.

I get my M100 at a local auto painter supply shop on Waterford, MI. If I decide to get a gallon of it, I'll get it from buffdaddy.com

UC is derived from M105. UC is made to be more user friendly.
