Good day everyone. I am busily reading the threads on here but with thousands to go through, I am hoping for a bit of direct advice. I have read the Daily Driver wash thread but mine is a bit different.
I live in a new housing development with a number of new constructions down wind of us. The wind blows strongly and dust, dirt, and debris is common. I wash on the driveway and if I do it later in the day, it is common to have a dusting of dust on the car before it dries. I park both cars outside, one on a gravel driveway, the other on the street. Both are daily driven on major highways. I log about 100 kms a day as does my wife. A garage is not in the picture.
Both cars are 2011s, one being a black Ford Fiesta the other a blue Hyundai Elantra Touring. They have some swirls, chips, and dings as you would expect from daily drivers but those are questions for another thread.
I currently have Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash and just picked up the Meguiar's clay bar kit. I have a micro fiber wash mitt and a pressure washer.
What can I do to minimize the damage done to my paint and ease my washing while construction continues up from me. I anticipate building for at least the next five years upwind of us. I am not looking for show car finish but rather a protective layer that may help out.
I am located in Canada with the easiest place to purchase being Canadian Tire. I would seriously consider ordering online if a product recommended is not available via CT.
Thank you for any suggestions.
