OK Probably shouldnt be asking this Zaino or Ultimate
Re: OK Probably shouldnt be asking this Zaino or Ultimate
I do believe in layering in that it guarantees complete coverage and gives peace of mind to the person waxing his car. But i also think that a small portion of the 2nd layer of wax is negated by the fricyion between the applicator pad and the paint surface and yes, the wax too.. The components of waxes and pure waxes while not enough to clean can also disrupt ever so slightly the wax below

Just a word of caution here - we don't allow bashing of anyone or any product here on MOL, so let's not step in that direction, please.
To 11hemi, if you like Ultimate Wax and your friend likes Zaino, what's the issue? Heck, I know Ford and Chevy guys that actually get along!! I know, huh?!?!?!?
The reality, though, is that the final wax or sealant you apply isn't the big player in the game of detailing. Sure, there can be some subtle differences in final appearance, but if you apply either one of these two on a badly neglected surface, neither will transform that vehicle into a show winner on it's own.
But geez, if such a debate can rage between two different synthetic sealants, what do you guys say to hardcore carnauba users?

Car guys who use canaubas are guys who are even crazier about there cars! I mean that in a nice way.. I've used carnauba waxes one way or the other in the past and i've seen the depth and wetness those carnaubas give, its clear why some guys prefer carnaubas vs. sealants regardless of the durabilty disadvantage. Carnauba is here to stay, even in the advent of super synthetic polymer based waxes and sealants..

So what do you call a guy who tops Ultimate Wax with M16?

Well, i think open minded is right..Those are guys who are big fans of sealants but who are also into traditional hard-cake type carnauba waxes.. Open minded? well, i think so, since those guys are the ones who like their rides shiny and well protected, so they are "open" to applying a layer of m16 to ensure further protection and want that carnauba shine..
