    Re: problems with NXT.2

I've used it on two vehicles so far. Most recent was after I buffed my Civic. It was dusk, cool and humid. Waited 10-15 mins. Did the test and wiped off. Before that I did the Insight during the afternoon,in the shade with higher temperatures and about the same humidity.

I've read this streaking problem quite a lot here. I'm thinking it could be something to do with different paint finishes and their age. If everyone is doing the same process and working in similair environments, then I can't think what else it would be.

Sleepy, you said it worked fine on your single stage paint and yet on your other car worked in patches. I reckon something has changed with the paint chemistry on your car, maybe due to age or environment.

If the paste wax/sealant has the same chemical make-up,I don't think it'll change much, but it's worth a go if you are used to working with paste.

Update, I put NXT on the hood of the car, by the way it is a '08 Taurus, black base coat with blue matalic flake, I will post pictures as soon as the fog lifts. I let the wax sit for 35-40 minutes and the wax came off without streaking. So I guess the secret is to let it sit as akmiel said at LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, Then wipe off. With my bel air it sets in the garage 90% of the time, and being single stage it would be different drying time.

By the way, the taurus, with NXT.2 on it looks Great!! I'm not sure I am ready to give up my Gold Class wax. NXT.2 is as good as advertised.

Glad to hear things worked out for you. Between Gold Class and NXT 2.0 you can't go wrong as both are great. I prefer the NXT 2.0 for the durability, but I do think the GC offers a deeper, richer and darker shine.

Just my opinion, for those people, like ME, who have a hard time remembering the times. This might be worth a sticky.

NXT 2.0 is finicky, however easily used.

apply very thin and let it dry,

              Swipe Test

              and.....

              Final Wipe

I've had streaking as well and waited just a bit longer after learning the swipe test.

Good you got the problem solved.

35-40 mins is quite long.Because of my location,I wouldn't like to have to wait that long as my driveway is next to a busy street and dust is always kicked up.

I do it after 10 mins and it works okay. I'm glad and fortunate I don't have that problem.

I can appriciate you problem with high traffic and dust. I lived in Minneapolis and St.Paul Mn., for 11 years. I have also learned that here in the country, small town U.S.A., when the farmers are plowing their fields, there is no place to hide from the dust as it sits in the air. Detailing cars becomes a trick, if you can not detail in the garage.

your right sleepy. Doesn't stop me from detailing. I just try to work quicker before too much stuff gets on top.
