    Re: NXT 2.0 Alternatives?

To start, the paint was in bad shape when I got it, CC failure, oxid/peeling clear coat, a lot of defects...the weird thing is...the left side of the car looks REALLY bad, rusted through rock chips, VERY dull, blurry reflections ect. BUT, the right side looked actually pretty decent other than a few small dents and scratches so, here`s the basic process of how I started to clean up the paint (keep in mind I have been working on it for about 3 weeks so to name each application of materials and such would be next to impossibe)

    1) Rinse off loose dirt/grime ect with heavy spray of water from top to bottom
    2) Wash with Megs GCCW twice using the 2 bucket method but no Grit Guards (have a dark blue M/F wash mitt (or at least I was told it was M/F) I use that started out on an Autozone brand extending wash wand or whatever.
    3) Dry with Megs SS M/F`s (small cheaper M/F`s for door jams, windows, ect)
    4) Clay with Megs SS Clay Kit with MQD for lubrication as supplied (I realize now I needed the "mild" clay as this paint was in pretty bad shape but nonetheless it`s smooth and looked polished compared to the left side when finished with scratch-x 2.0
    5) Dry with Megs SS M/F`s (small cheaper M/F`s for door jams, windows, ect) I know what you`ll say and yes I plan on getting some WW or WM towels.
    6) Spot treat minor scratches/abrasions ect with MSX 2.0 then went over the whole right side with 2 passes of MSX 2.0 just to remove the lightest of scratches and seeing as how it breaks down into a polish I was guessing it would polish enough for LSP.
    7) Megs Cleaner/wax might have been where I messed up as I let each coat dry then removed and the thread from mike said that in this process you would want to work it in and be removed until the last coat/treatment. But 3 coats of cleaner/wax
    8) 3 coats of NXT 2.0 and like I said...the streaks covered about 75-85% of the panel I am working on this time.

I do not know if this is because NXT users outnumber M21 users or because M21 does not cause streaking or because M21 users tend to know what they are doing.

But as I have previously stated, I always assume, and I think we must always assume, that user error is more likely than product failure. I hope no one is offended. I assume this also for myself.
I would say it is because more people can get NXT 2.0. And I believe you have to get M21SS from PBE stores or it just is not carried by as many retailers. I`d say if you compared the ratios of people who are able to get M21SS versus the number of people who have to get NXT 2.0 or just get it for convenience and compare the # of people who get streaking, they would possibly all be roughly the same. i.e. if 5000 members on mol use nxt 2.0 and 1000 of them get streaks, then lets say 2500 members of mol use M21SS I`d put my money on approximately 500 of them get streaks.

I would not say they were lucky enough to get a bottle that was not compromised but I WOULD say that those of us with streaking from NXT 2.0 are either UNlucky enough to have purchased/let a bottle go bad/seperate ect. OR there might be something wrong in our prep work, either way if you get streaks and do not want them as some customers will be able to see them and not want to pay I would suggest using a different wax, might be easier than going through a bunch of hassle like this.

doubt it all you want...but maybe it could be due to the fact that the consumer grade stuff is not a priority for megs and they do not mind people having problems and hopefully will decide to move up to the pro stuff, and spend more $ hoping they dont buy MORE faulty products

                    Hello,

One of the best over-the-counter alternatives to the NXT 2.0 LIQUID Wax is actually the NXT 2.0 PASTE Wax. I feel that your problem may be solved by simply switching to a paste type wax.

Why don't you give that a try?

go ahead, ban me for being a newbie...I already had my suspicions of you and your salesman friend SVTlightning trying to sell me on a DA or PC on my introduction post when for all he knew I could have had one already and been very skilled with it...I guess you run around doubting what people say and tell them to get a DA/PC and some compounds and then have him come behind you and try to sell them material to use with the pc/da that got sold. Go ahead and suggest that I be banned. I did not make myself have all these issues I was only the victim of them and you, my friend are HEARTLESS for suggesting someone like me be banned...go look at my posts...what got me to ACTUALLY register on this forum was to HELP someone, namely "Johnson" he let UC dry on his paint and I think he may have left a layer of it on his paint and worked all the way to LSP. I simply gave MY suggestion as to what I would do to cure his problem if I was him. I read this forum and frequented it for 6 weeks before registering.

I'd like to say something here before this gets way out of hand (and it really looks like it's past borderline)

                            Forum Rules explicitly state:

                            1. No personal attacks toward members or non-members will be tolerated.

                            2. No arguing with Moderators or Administrators.

                            3. You are welcome to disagree but you must be polite.

                            4. No bashing any company or their products. No bashing other people. If you can't say anything nice about someone, then don't say anything at all.

                            7. Keep language "G Rated", this includes insinuations. If you wouldn't say it in front of your grandparents, your parents or your children, then you shouldn't probably be posting to the Meguiar's Online forum.

Justice for Breaking the Rules - Color Code:
We are human and we all make mistakes, however, there will be consequences for your actions as follows:

Blue = Polite warning via email to remind you of the rules.
Green = E-mail warning and possible 1 to 7 day suspension.
Red = You will have banned yourself immediately with little or no warning.

I'm not a moderator, but it is my duty as a registered member of Meguiar's Online to report any problems I see. Therefore, I am sending PM's to MOL moderators regarding this thread. Thank you.
