+1 I would buy it. It is so nice to wash my vehicles in the garage with only about 3 gallon of water.

Re: Barry was on ABC today

Found it interesting that I guess some people would wash a car without a nozzle at the end of their garden hose (i.e. wastefull)

Anyway, also interesting to see the situation people have to deal with based on their geography. I've been to Palm Springs and Indio in SoCal and one of them had a slogan on their city's website saying something like "360 days of sun per year". I was amazed at how LITTLE rain they got mind you I shouldn't be that surprised considering it's a desert. Just a shock for me considering where I'm from.

Completely different here in Toronto...but anyway, washing my car, I would have to deplete Lake Ontario of water before I run out.

I'll trade some water for some hard to get Meg's products if anyone's game.

Re: Barry was on ABC today

For all of you crazy curious folks out there, I've got another rinseless method you may be interested in.

I've been testing Last Touch (ME on a personal level, this isn't an official Meguiar's test) as a lubrication/wash agent at 1 ounce per 1 gallon of water in a wash bucket. For small cars I typically use 3 gallons of water and 3 ounces of Last Touch (same ratio as ONR), and then do the same style rinseless wash starting at the top of the vehicle and working downward.

I wash one panel at a time using the Meguiar's white microfiber wash mitt (I've tried several styles and brands and this was my favorite by far- least drag) and stop and dry it as I go using the Meguiar's microfiber chamois for a first pass, and then the Meguiar's waffle weave for the second pass.

I haven't have any wash induced marring or swirls beyond the bare minimum you would expect from any wash method.

I actually filmed the process but haven't edited the video yet, so stay tuned for that

Actually........... I've been doing this for the past couple weeks with excellent results. No marring. However, the difference is that I mix quite a bit of Last Touch with DI water. 3:1 ratio. So I'm jugging 3 gallons of water with 1 gallon of Last Touch. It might sound crazy, but I'm using a low pressure washer to spray the car. So far I've done about 5 cars and still got a long way to go.

My technique is that I spray it one of the panels liberally at about 5 inches away (only 45psi), basically to let the solution capture the loose dirt and then with a super plush MF, gently wipe down in a snake figure. Then go at it a second time after flipping the MF. Then using a clean MF and dry the remaining portion.

I learned this method by Mel Craig, although it's a bit different than what he does. I find that this method I'm using I can do it in the sun and minimize any possible marring.

Although I haven't tried it on an extremely dirty car (and probably won't), but it works great for cars that hasn't seen a wash in 3-4 days.

                  Very nicely done Barry.

I'm sure Meguiars gained some customers there!

The State of NC says around 115 gallons, but I say that that is hogwash. I don't know for sure, but I am going to say about 40 gallons or less if a person uses a shut-off nozzle.
When we wash the traditional way we use about 6 to 8 gallons. When we use the "waterless" wash we use less then 6 to 12 oz.

Have you tried the ONR in your low pressure washer yet?

Like so many things in our state, I'm betting NC Gov. is way off.

Re: Barry was on ABC today

The advice about using a car cover was a little erroneous, IMO. Car covers tend to collect dust outdoors and transfer it to the paint. They can also inflict swirls and scratches no matter how much caution is exercised.

I have a new car cover that I bought along with my car almost a year ago. I've never used it, and I probably never will after learning so much about paint care on MOL.

Just for clarification, did the video suggest that using UQD was an effective measure for repelling sprinklers?

But not yet, I've still got a lot of Last Touch left before I get to try the ONR method. But so far it's working pretty well. I just do it a bit different than how Mel showed us though. I find that soaking the car up and spraying from top to bottom really removes all the loose dirt first.
