    2. Not allowing the product to set-up before removal. You need to allow at least 15 minutes before attempting to wipe off. However, this time can be affected by several things including temperature and humidity. So what is suggested is using the Swipe Test. After waiting ~15 min, take a clean finger and quicky "swipe" a spot of the residue. If the paint comes out clear with no smearing where you swiped, then it is ready to remove. If not, you need to give it more time.

Remove the product with a good quality microfiber towel.

    I hope this helps!

As all have menitoned.. I know personally I apply to much Nxt myself and need to improve my technique...good luck though and let us know how you go..

Actually I mentioned and described the Swipe Test in my second point. When MOL first started, Mike and I (I was the Super Moderator on here from day one and then for 4 more years, discovered that people were having issues with the set-up time. Hence the Swipe Test was established. And as I said, several factors contributed to this set-up/drying time.

Applying a wax thinly is difficult for some people especially on lighter colors. In time you will get the hang of it. Using a DA to apply a wax also makes applying a thin uniform coat easier.

NXT 2.0 is designed for paint. However, people sometimes use it for other surfaces. Just do not use it on your windshield as it can cause severe smearing when it rains. Wax on glass can also sometimes leave smears or cause a glare when the headlights hit the glass at night-time. They do make special glass polishes for glass. I use Pro Wax and Autoglym both of which do an awesome job. However, usually using a good glass cleaner like NXT Glass Cleaner is all one needs.

Tony, you can try a couple of things to remove the smearing:

        1) Use a quick detailer and a microfiber towel.

        2) If that doesn't work, wash the car again and then re-apply a thin coat of NXT, following the instructions given by Tim above. The principle is "like removes like." Here is Mike Phillip's advice:

Anytime you have any problems at all removing product because of smears, or difficulty, remember, Like removes like.

Re-apply NXT Tech wax to a small section, say one quarter of the hood. Allow to dry till it swipes clear, then gently wipe the excess off. Now inspect that area as compared to the rest of the hood. If you do everything correctly, that area should be clear and streak free, if so, the repeat to the entire car or any affected area.
