Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
If NXT is a synthetic sealant and Gold Class Wax is a polish/wax, then couldn't you apply a layer of Gold Class followed by a layer of NXT to give an extra deep shine look and strong protection?

Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
I have done the wet paper towel method mentioned in the link.
Seems to work pretty good when things are fresh, and saves stripping the wax.
I just let it soak for a while as I do the wheels, etc, then wash the car.

Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
Any recommendations for daily drivers who see their fair share of bugs?
I drive about 60 miles a day on my daily driver and was wondering about how to keep those bugs from sticking in the front bumper.
Perhaps a double coat of wax may help?
Currently before I wash I spray some APC let it sit for a min and then do the wash and it seems to help. Would multiple coats of wax be better protecting ?
What do you guys think?

Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
Hi, kesawi. Yes, you can use Cleaner Wax and NXT together. NXT will have no problems bonding on top of Cleaner Wax (or ColorX), even though NXT is a synthetic sealant and CW is a wax.
The internet conventional wisdom is that one should not apply a sealant over a wax, because of bonding issues; but this does not hold true for NXT/M21 and does not in fact hold true for many other sealants out there, too (e.g., Mother's Reflections, Blackfire Wet Diamond, Ultima Paint Guard Plus). I think that one has to approach this on a case by case basis. Just last week over at the S2000 site one of the experienced detailers noted that he has never had a problem topping Zaino over a carnauba--I think that amounts to heresy! Sometimes one just has to experiment and see for oneself whether the conventional wisdom obtains or not.
But back to your concern, NXT is not a finicky sealant. It will bond just fine to Cleaner Wax, as many Meguiar's users can attest.

Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
My understanding is that NXT is a sealant whereas Cleaner Wax is, well, a wax. From reading a few different threads I'm a little confused as to whether it's ok to mix sealants and waxes, and therefore whether cleaner wax should be used before NXT.

Your second photo is the cleaner/wax akimel was refering to.
Most products seem to be on the Meguiars.aus website... but that doesnt mean they are easy to find.

Hi Kesawi,
Just so you know I changed your click-able links into fixed pictures because our forum policy requires new members to reach 30 posts before posting click-able links. Thanks for your understanding!

The range of Meguiars products availble here in Australia appears to be a lot less than those in the US. I'd appreciate if anyone could advise which if any of the following products are the cleaner referred to in post #1.
Thanks for the help.

The 2-bucket method is defeinitely very effective in preventing small swirl marks after a wash. But the Grit Guard thingy is a must-have! I gotta get myself one of those.

Wheels first. Then start at the top and work down, doing one panel at a time before rinsing. I would do the whole car if I had a foam gun but other than that I would be afraid of the soap drying.

Re: Your Daily Driver: A Simple Wash & Wax Regimen
i like to do one panel at a time. If its in the shade like Megafast said, then i wond do the whole car but maybe one whole side.
Good thread, it will help others a lot with their own regimen
