I went to the basement and pulled out my #21 and opened the lid on it and it was all seperated. Guessing about a 1/4" of a clear water substance on the top of it. I shook it up for 2 minutes real well and I was having a hard time getting it back into form. I then poured some onto a paper plate and the product was real runny and you could see the clear liquid running off the product aswell. I did apply some to the tailgate on my black truck that I did use #80 on it then followed up with #21 with the PC and allowed it to dry 30 minutes then wiped it off and had streaking. I did the swipe test on the streaking and that streaked some more. I then gave it another 30 minutes and wiped with a fresh supreme shine and no luck. All I know is Im not happy with the product seperating, but I do really like the results.

I am also experiencing the same problem. The condition of the paint is excellent. I have had the same problem three times now in succession since it has become warmer. I would wash my black Suburban the night before and then garage it. I would start the waxing process early in the morning while it was still cool out. After shaking the liquid NXT vigorously I applied it to a Meguiar’s finishing pad and applied the NXT to the Suburban’s surface. A swipe test was done to insure the wax had properly dried and some additional time was given. The wax was removed with Meguiar’s finishing pads. The results looked great in the garage. I then used micro-fiber towels and wiped the entire surface down using Meguiars QD. Pulled the Suburban outside into the sun and did an inspection. No surface imperfections were seen. However, later that day my Suburban sat outside for several hours in 90+ degree heat with very little humidity in Northern California. As I walked up to it I noted a haziness across the hood and sides. I swiped at the haziness and noted a “greasy” type of smudging from my fingers. Looking at the haziness with the reflection of the sun you could see color distortions.
I have applied liquid NXT and taken it off by hand and experienced the same problem. I believe this problem has to be with the wax and the heat simply because I don’t have the problem after waxing my Suburban only when it sets in the sun for some time. It should also be noted that this problem never happened in the winter time.http://www.californiaspecial.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=27

I tried M21 again on a test spot on a black 1991 Acura NSX today and no streaking issues.
1.) Spot prepped with M80 and PC
2.) Weather was hot, dry, low humidity
3.) Thoroughly shook bottle so no separation visible
The purpose of these posts is to to add additional data to the mix since I reported the streaking issue on a black car I worked on during the early evening hours.

I always use the swipe test to ensure the wax is ready to be wiped off. Probably was around 10 minutes.
Right now I'm under the assumption that my issues had to deal with product separation (improper mixing due to draining of liquid from bottle) combined with high humidity. Having addressed both of these issues, I've been ok, however I also haven't had the chance to work during high humidity in awhile.
I've got a lot of black cars coming my way in about 2 weeks.

How long did you let it dry? I think this may be a factor. I did part of my car last night then went to bed. I forgot to wipe it off and wound up letting it sit for 12 hours. Very easy to wipe off and zero streaks. Still, my #21 never thoroughly mixes together no matter how much I shake it. Gives good results though on last test spot.

I like the durability and depth I get from NXT but after working hours on a car, I want to be DONE! Meg's and others have alternatives. I have four tins of #16 I'll be using. The two unopened NXT's will wait for this to get sorted out. It is good to know it wasn't something I was doing wrong. Simply applying and removing wax--the final step--should not be highly techinque driven.

I tried another spot on my car, but this time I only let the #21 dry for 1 hour. I did get considerable streaking this time. My unscientific conclusion, too much wetting action, or it is not evenly distributed, after mixing as shown by the separation issues I've had.

i would like to say that imo, i agree that the streaking issue is most likely down to surface prep, and most definately surface temperature.I have used a lot of other products in the past, that have left streaking, zymol, swissol , mothers, zaino and collinite, and have always concluded that it is down to prep, surface temp or technique.I do not think it is right to automaticaly assume that the product is below standard, and therefore try to make this the excuse for less than perfect detailing results, just my 2 cents

Cheeseman, I'm not sure if you read the whole thread, but we have had some amazinlgy talented detailers on this thread state the same problem. With them, I can assure you that surface prep wasn't the problem. This is supposed to be waxing, not rocket science also.
But thanks for your 2 cents...Let's make all of the cars shiny!

Waxing should not be rocket science. It isn't with MPPP, #20, or #26. If it is surface prep then there must be a compatibility issue with #80, as that is the most common product used for prep, at least in this thread. If we are not supposed to use #80 before #21 then we need to know that.
