I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. While my #21 does separate when left alone, it mixes just fine and stays that way for days before it separates again. I have applied it in direct sun on a black car, in practical darkness(high humidity) on a black car, in the early hours of the day(in shade), middle of the day in shade on dark cars and had no streaking issues at all.Quadruple Honda Owner

I have never had any issues with NXT paste. I have used it on my wife's black Stratus and it always looks great. I have never used #21 and probably never will as long as NXT and GC are around.Watch your pennies and your dollars will take care of themself.

I hate to throw a wrench into everything, but I have the same problem on my black '67 Camaro and I don't use Meguiar's products. I use 3M Hand Glaze, followed by P21S Paint Cleanser and P21S pure Carnauba Paste Wax. All horizontal surfaces have the streaks. The only way I've found to counteract it is to keep turning my towel and following up with a MF Cloth. Lot's of elbow grease is needed to even out the finish. I've read that some people think that the streaks must be on verticle surfaces as well, but verticle surfaces become horizontal when you turn your head and I don't see them. I figured it had something to do with oxidation on the horizontal surfaces, but my paint is as clean as can be and it still shows up. Check out the picture, this car is clean!427 Big Block is true American Thunder. God Bless American Muscle.

Here's what I've received so far,
It is probably due to a combination of higher paint surface temp and surface residual left from improper washing/surface prep.
These products, (M21 & NXT liquid), contain a high levels of polymers which will fully cure within 24 hours. On hotter days with surface temp above 80 F, the polymers will set-up faster.
One can apply a second coat to smaller section using a DA or foam hand applicator pad, followed by wiping off using a microfiber towel. Not observing this problem on vertical surfaces leads me to think there is a surface prep problem.
Overall, I would suggest applying to smaller sections at a time, using a dual action polisher if possible, allowing the product to work its way into the paint with several passes, with an immediate microfiber wipe-off.

Hi:
Mike, thanks for the information and assistance.
It is probably due to a combination of higher paint surface temp and surface residual left from improper washing/surface prep.
Not sure how you could get the surface prep. any better.
I always work in the shade and place my hand of the surface to make sure it is not to hot. Temps here in VA have been in the upper 70's to low 80's.
My 21 is very lumpy. No clear liquid, but a lot of lumps. I have a creamy solution with lumps of a soft substance floating in it.
Shaking the bottle does not cause the lumps to disappear.
What should the consistency of the product be like?
Thanks

I'm sorry but I cannot disagree more with surface prep being the problem...
When we people such as Octane who have experinced problems, that kind of eliminates surface prep as a problem.
Also, if I am claying, then using 80 via PC at speed 5 until it is broken down and being wiped by a brand new microfiber, what could possibly be wrong with my prep? It seems that the surface prep reasoning takes the blame off of Meguiars and places it on the user. And in this case, with the wide varitey of complaints in this thread by different users of all different skill levels, I think the problem is with the product.Let's make all of the cars shiny!

Also FWIW, I have not had this on my own black car, just the dark blue Accord. I have no idea what that means, but when I do the Accord again (a friend's daughter's car) I will experiment with taping the hood. I will mention again though, that the first time, perhaps I had not perfectly removed all of the 80, but the second time, it was just a wash and wax.
But as many cars as Mike has done, if it hasn't happened to him, it must be a user problem.
