I would think that M205 on a microfiber finishing pad via Dual Action Machine, or, any of our pro compounds, would remove any glass coating on the exterior glass. There is no way to really test full removal however. Even a hydro phillic surface which does not bead water, is not...

I would try the compound again with the coarse pad. Go slow and keep an eye on the paint. If each session fixes damage, keep at it until it's all gone. Just keep an eye on the clear coat during it all. If the compound doesn't take it out it means the damage went deeper into the clear/paint.

I tried by hand first then hy machine.
Is there any hope?
Did the clear coat went off?
should I try the ultimate compound again?

Are you applying the compound by hand or machine?
I can say first hand, I was forever a 'by hand' guy my whole car owning life. I finally bought a machine about 5 years ago, and wow, you just cannot do by hand what you can with machine.
So if your using the compound by hand, using a machine...

Hi Nick - I was actually just going to post the question - what are the different type of hydrophobic coatings? To answer your question - I'm not sure. I get a lot of cars in and out of my shop, window tint shop, that have these coatings on the interior of the glass.
It makes film stick...
