Before we machine polished Gordy's Prowler, we tried using ScratchX to see what we could do. His finish started out looking like this,
We pulled it into Meguiar's Garage, wiped it down with Meguiar's Quik Detailer, and then clayed it with Meguiar's Quik Clay System.
Then we discussed modern clear coat paints and how they are typically harder than traditional paints and as such require special cleaning products like Meguiar's ScratchX which uses a microscopic diminishing abrasive to safely and effectively remove below surface defects,
Then we applied the ScratchX,
Members look on and ask questions...
After applying ScratchX, we hand applied one application of Deep Crystal Polish and one hand applied application of NXT Tech Wax Liquid and then removed the tape and backed the Prowler out into the sun for club members to inspect... and they inspected!

This shot shows the swirls and the water etchings on one side and most of the swirls removed from the other side and all of the water etching spots removed
Here's a little different camera angle
It's hard to capture good photos of the before and after because of the angle the sun is in the sky this time of the year. The results were dramatic in person, and with another application of the ScratchX, possibly two more, the rest of the swirls could be removed.

can that scratchX be applied with a PC? Also what did they go over that with the 80 after the scratchx. Either way looks great. I havent seen a prowler in years. Very nice cars

ScratchX is recommend for hand application. You can try using it with an orbital buffer or a dual action polisher, but be warned, it can become gummy and difficult to remove when heated.
After the #80 Speed Glaze, we applied NXT Tech Wax.

I can take no credit, the two guys in the photos did all the work! But you're correct in that the results were stellar. Best of all the folks that attended this class now have skill that will last them a lifetime and that they can share with others...
