That's me claying the paint, the clay is between my hand and the paint so...

For what it's worth, I usually either use my right hand when working by hand or tape my ring with painter's tape. After around 200+ classes in the last 5 years we've never had a problem and in most cases the picture will show my right hand doing the work whatever it is; but again in this case there is a layer of detailing clay between the paint and my ring finger.

I like the tip of taping the ring. Sometimes the rings are tough to get off -- depending on my water retention.

I've been using a lot of that tape recently. I'm "detailing" my family room and foyer, including a 17-foot ceiling. So playing with the new DA on the new cars is on-hold.
