If Meguiars could some how team up with one of the networks that broadcasts the NASCAR races it would be a massive hit. If they did a segment before each race on a the proper use of a product or just washing your vehicle properly.

Yes they will be available online. I'm putting the finishing touches on the 1960 Corvette video. You've actually seen various pics of it here on MOL. Single stage lacquer job.

Format wise--it's been evolving. As far as showing it on public access, my concern is that its too good. LOL. Have you seen the shows on your local PA??? They are pretty scary here in Los Angeles. As I understand it, if the cable provider likes it, they will fit it in to other markets as well--so you can get decent exposure not just in your own home town. =)

Yeah tell me about it.... most of the time here it's all political grand-standers and religious zealots going at it on camera.... either that or the infamous "Lansing Fish Cam" -- a webcam-like image of a fish bowl on someone's desk that gets aired for an hour time slot at like 3AM or something

Even a quick segment on Car Crazy about proper detailing would be neat. Like a 5-minute spot at the end.

As an aside, I picked up the "How to polish paint" video for like $2.50 on the Katrina ebay store. Well worth it!

Now That's an excellent idea!!!! A lot of people watch that show, and most that do, really like to work on their cars and make them look great, but the thruth is that if it wasn't for MOL I would still probably be detailing my car the without the proper techniques. There has to be a way that more people can be reached.

What better way to boost meguiar's products than to have a segment on the PROPER techniques on how to use their products, nothing cheesy like an infomercial, but something like a product showcase every week, and how to use that product.!

There is a polishing video that comes with the G-100.......I think it's about 20-30 minutes long.

Not sure if Meguiars sells this as a separate item though, but it can be viewed online at Meguiars.com

I have not seen any Meguiar's TV commercials that I can recall.

I think that may be because I do not watch TV often, but I would definitally like to see a comercial selling something like Nxt Car Was or Gold Class Car Wash and have someone with family sedan or van and then show a guy properly washing it quickly.

Bring to the attemtion of the public that Meguiar's recomends using a clean wash mit and 2 buckets one to rinse.

Now, show 2 cars one with swirls and the exact same car without swirls. This can be done in almost no time at all, but I really thinkn a very short segment would catch the attention.

                  ______

Here is the format I would try:

Attension Getter for example, "Did you know inproper washing can damaage your paint, create swirls and make your car look dull?"

Now show that there is, indeed, a problem, and that it needs to be solved.

Finally, offer the solution and state any extras gained from it. Show how easy a car wash is to do. Have a guy spray a car, wash it correctly with time lapse photograhy.

Explain exactly how the right products and use will solve the problem.

Conclude with something that will leave people thinking their cars are dirty, they need the correct product, which they know the name of now, and they know how to use it.

Oh yeah! I had forgotten about that one; it's stuffed away in the G100's box on my shelf.... I've had the kit for 4 years or so now so I'd forgotten all about that one....

You probably won't see Meg's commercials unless you watch the speed channel, or SpikeTV during Powerblock. Those are the only times I've ever seen Meguiar's advertising.

have the car covered like they do in the show when the
customer comes in to pick it up the detailers pull off the cover,
then explain the process of what you did to restore the paint
                        to its original form.

how about just segments on proper maintainence

washing and drying, educate the consumer on paint defects.

then have a searchable database of pro detailers on meguiars online to repair those defects.

                              its a win-win situation

Meguiars gets product revenue from consumers and pro detailers.

the pro detailers get revenue fom the consumers for paint correction.

One of my biggest disappointments was the first time watching Car Crazy. I thought for sure there would be some car care information on there but to my surprise, nothing about detailing your car. So I watched a couple more times and still nothing. Meguiars Car Crazy, it was almost like false advertisement........lol. I'm not going to mention the name but another leading company of car care products has a section in a particular show where they give tips and info. I think it is like 2 to 5 minutes long. Why can't Meguiars do the same? At least do it on Car Crazy.
