Huh, that's interesting...thanks for posting it. Never tried #7 by Cyclo...that'd be a pretty aggressive combo if the polish is still the same old stuff.

Re: What Ever Happened to These Waxes?

This is a great thread! I've never seen it before.

Anyone remember back in the early to mid-90's that Boyd Coddington had his own car care line. I remember seeing it in a local auto parts chain back then. I had no idea who Boyd was at the time and now that I've seen him on TV I'm glad I never bought his car care products.

I have less than one can of #19 left, and I'd be interested in getting one of those if a) they still have them and b) you'd be willing to hassle around selling me one. PM me if so...

Rusty Bumper- Over at another forum somebody posted that they're still using TR-3, so it's still around and apparently still working as well as it ever did (which wasn't all that badly).

How about Classic Car Wax? That stuff was hard as nails, and about as hard as nails to get off.

All right. I'll run up there Saturday morn. and get a pix. They do not look like RB's pic. Older! Not even sure it is usable. A lot of older waxes in there.

                      Sorry so late!
Hey it has been a year and I used all my "no-rub" up and need to buy more!

Very interesting! Thanks for following up on that!

                        Anybody remember Classic wax?
It was my first experience with a Carnuba wax back in the late 70"s
It was in a black can if I remember right.
Harder than the dickens to use as it wasn't a creamy paste but more the texture of very cold margerine.
I think there might be a can still out in my fathers garage. I'm gonna look the next time I am out that way.
                        I've always been crazy...

That collection is sweet Superior Shine!

what do you plan to do with it in the future?

Cool! If it's not usable (which would surprise me, this stuff stays good indefinitely) I'd still take it. I keep an eye open for older products...heh heh, I'd sure love to build up a collection like Superior Shine has!

DAC17 & Krazy Ken- I tried Classic in '76 after Consumer's Reports said how great it was Compared with the #7/#16 combo I was used to using it was quick and fairly easy (the trick is to really work light applications of the Classic while applying so there's little residue to buff) but it didn't look *nearly* as good as the MirrorGlaze combo, which I went back to.

I really enjoyed Rain Dance back in the 1970's...I'd never heard of the Meguiars brand at that time though.
