Here are some more 'home remedies':
One cup fresh, or half cup dried, spearmint in a blender. Fille the blender with water and pulverize for 30 seconds. Strain the liquid and spray infested areas twice a week until problem is solved.
4 to 5 tbsp cornmeal
3 tbsp bacon grease
3 tbsp baking powder
3 packages of yeast
Mix cornmeal and bacon grease into a paste, then add other ingredients. Dab mix on the inside of jar lids and set near ant hills.
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp boric acid powder
3 cups water
Add sugar to water and boil. Then add boric acid powder. Place mix in small jar lids and set in the middle of ant trails or near hills.
1 tbsp. of bakers' yeast
2 tbsp. of sugar
Mix in 1 pint of water; spread this mixture on pieces of cardboard, and place around the yard.
Mix and spray 50% human urine, 50% water. While kind of gross, this is actually good for repelling lots of other insects as well as critters. According to my source, the older the urine, the better.
I'll dig around and see if I can find some more...
