    Get a load of this...

My AC pulley went bad after the end of last summer and I had to remove the belt. I was going to get it fixed until I noticed that my gas mileage had shot up about 4 to 5 miles to the gallon!

I'm not in a hurry to get it fixed now.

At least until the weather gets hot again.

I've only got about 800 miles on my new Mazda3 hatch, but one of the things I really like about it is that if I drive it like an econobox, I get econobox mileage. But, if I want to have some fun, it's got some zoom-zoom, too. Sure, it's no 454 Corvette, but it's plenty fast for driving on the street.

      I got 31.7 MPG on my 1st tank & 28.2 MPG on the 2nd (more fun-less mileage).

BTW, my wife got 27.3 MPG on her last tank with the Volvo S80 (2.9L six - no turbo). Not bad for a full size sedan!

That actually sounds pretty good for a truck. A guy I work with has a small Nissan (Frontier?) and he's getting 14-16!
