Just an update... After doing lots of research and price watching and so on I ended up with the TV I initially posted on.
Great picture/sound quality quite the TV, lots of options, 2 year warranty, HD tuner built in and so on... yes it is smaller at 34" but in my room its a perfect fit. After doing side by side comparisons, the picture a tube provides is my preference over LCD or DLP.
