    Re: Car dealership troubles/advice

Went to the dealership today. The car was towed there thisvmorning. They did agree the fluid was low. They added 1 quart. They also agreed to redo the flush in a few weeks free of change if I want since the original was so dirty. Everything seems fine and they said there should be no damage do to it being low. Time will tell. I will have it re flushed in 3-4 weeks and I will watch this time.

Why wait? Why would you drive around for anothe few weeks with dirty trans fluid? You know it's dirty. They admit it's still dirty. Not sure I understand the thinking on that one. Oh and I hope the tow was on their nickle!

Most important! Have everything in writing and not just word of mouth. When you start having problems AGAIN (and you will) you want to back everything with documentation and not " he said -she said" also important are dates and time. You can not over do on DOCUMENTATION.
If they do not give you anything in writing , write it out yourself with times and dates and statements and have them sign it if they will. If they don't sign it, it's ok you still have info.

          IDK anymore. I so frustrated!!!

The tow was on their nickle, all $150 of it.
If I have issues I have documents. I told him today, If i have any "problems" with that tranny, then he will be ordering one and fixing. He said "of course"..
I dont think he would mess with me to my face....
Time will tell. The next trans flush I will be in the bay watching them do it.

WOW! That is really a shame. I remember seeing that report on TV the Big Buffer posted. I had trouble with a computer not long ago and the company was trying to blow me off.

I contacted the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General and my local congressman. Once you get these heavy weights breathing down their neck, you'll get results.

Good luck, document everything and don't be afraid of going for the juggler. I'm sick and tired of the little guy being pushed around by big businesses.

Don't know where in GA you are, but I know of an excellent Transmission Specialist in Lexington, SC who will clear all of your problems. PM if you are interested.

I think these reports are/were done in every city in the country...and it appears they all came to the same conclusion...SCAME, CHEAT, ETC.

Where is this dealership located so we know to avoid it entirely?

...and that's the safest way to do it too (and the best IMO).

I tend to agree. My wife's CRV and my Rav4 both have what is longlife tranny fluid. I buy the factory fluid either from the dealership or online and replace it in steps.

Forget flushes, just do a drain and fill. That go for your power steering and brake fluid. On your power steering and brake fluid just use a turkey baster to **** out the fluid and replace.Do it a few times in a couple of thousand miles if it makes you feel better.

I've never had a system flush done.

SX4 I would get them to give you an extended warranty. That way you're covered and you are also showing them you are willing to be fair. It won't cost them an entire trans right now but if you do have issues down the road you're covered. It's a win win situation for both of you. You're satisfied and they're not facing a lawsuit. Keep EVERYTHING documented too.
