The clear coat I use is the exact same I have on my truck. The clearcoat gives it gloss and pertects it as a car's base coat would. So for interior items you never have to worry about it fading or anything. For the inside door handles I am using 3 coats of clear since they see the most abuse. Everything else got 2 coats. The shaker Intake for my Hood will recieve 4-5 to match the gloss of the hood.
Pretty much any patterns are availabe. From carbon fiber, animal print, wood grain, marble, ect.
Before dipping the part has to be sanded down to a smooth finish and than sprayed with at least two solid coats of base paint. Than the item is dipped, rinsed under a warm shower, and than cleared once fully dried. Prep work is very important to the final product and the basecoat is key as it's the background color to the pattern.
