I look at service more than I do price. I don't want to give my money to any vendor/business who doesn't provide good customer service no matter how cheap the prices may be. You can't put a price on good customer service..

I shop at the site that gives the best all around prices. I see a company that pushes their price matching policy as a company who _knows_ their prices are high and does not want to lose business to the company that has better prices. I'd rather give my money to the company willing to give a good price to their customers in return for better repeat business.

Autogeek has good all around prices, and they offer price matching as well

I think tcope1 is coming from a show me don't tell me angle.
eg. Home Depot guarantees the lowest price and guarantees to beat competitors, but it's quite apparent that they don't have the lowest prices, not even close. Top that with a bunch of conditions and there is no real value to the guarantee. If you're going to make you consumers do all the work to get a good price, why have the guarantee?

With that being said... when comparing ADS vs. Autogeek on on 70 items (just over $1000) the retail price difference is $20. I won't say who won because the difference is negligible. If I took 70 different items it may have went in the other direction.

All companies are going to have sales... take advantage of them. They all want to earn your business. You don't have to be 100% loyal to a business, you can deal with a couple reputable companies, you're not married to them. It's nice to share the wealth :-)

I like the idea of a loyalty discount. Give repeat customers a discount rate based on volume. To me, this seems like the fairest method.

Company A sells widgets at $10 and Company B sells them at $1. You also need to assume that widgets cost less then $1 wholesale... how else can Company B sell them for $1. If you _only_ by from Company A then Company B makes no money... hence, they go out of business. All the mean time you are supporting Company A who has the higher price. Why?

AG has good prices? Have you shopped around at all? They are one of the highest. They have a good selection... but _certainly_ not low prices (one of the reason's why they constantly offer discounts.

As far as them price matching... see my original post and review this post as well.

If you only buy from company B, then company A makes no money, what's your point? You yourself said:

The bottom line is; You have the freedom to shop wherever you choose to shop. If there are 10 business' that are selling what you are looking to buy, and you narrow it down to 1 of those business' for whatever reason, that means that the other 9 will not be getting your money, that's life, that's how the world of sales works, it's called free enterprise.

If a company matches the price of another competitor, and offers another 5% on top, then who cares what the original price was, it's the bottom line that matters. I myself shop for the best price, followed by customer service. If a store doesn't know how to treat a customer with respect, they will have forever lost me as a customer.

Whatever business you buy from, there are dozens more that are not getting your money, that's because it is your choice as to where you spend your money, as well as it's the stores choice as to how they market themselves, and how they treat their customers.

Thats their prerogative if they don't want to shop around. That has nothing to do with me.
