Gotta' love "Orange peel". No, I haven't been sniffing the #16 again.

I had about $1000 hail damage done to my 2007 Ram. I could find about twenty small dings. I asked the owner of the shop who is PDR expert himself "what was up". His response.... there are a lot of small dings that I simply could not see without the "magic lights" that the PDR folks use.

He also pointed out that "orange peel" is a PDR tech's "friend". "Orange peel" masks the many of dings super well. PDR techs especially like working on Chrysler products. I for sure know why after owning two of them. But, my wife's Tacoma has a good bit of "orange peel" too.

So guys if you live a hail zone, be grateful for a bit of "orange peel".

p.s. They have about 8-12 hours work to get the dings out of my truck. Guess there were more than twenty

Wow that is unfortunate. Well at least you had the orange peel to hide it!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

When I picked up the truck, I talked with the tech who did the work. He commented on amount of the orange peel that showed up under his lights Good thing it's a white truck and I'm not quite as anal as I was twenty years ago. The truck looks "good as new". I took a close look at a very nice dark metallic blue BMW that they had worked on to remove hail damage. Not much "orange peel" present anywhere and it was totally dent free. Gotta' love PDR too.

Sorry to here about your truck being in a hail storm. PDR shops are great. Glad it looks so good.
