So i wanted a front licinse plate to spruce up my car..
I ordered a "ROADRACE MOTORSPORTS" ($29)!!!! plate frame and a "thin blue line" plate...idk. I think it will look cool and mabey the cops will leave me alone..haha.
Can I go to jail for that?? Is it illegal to display? Just curious??

Are front plates required in Georgia?

No. Front plates are NOT required in the state of GA. Only rear. The plate i ordered is a black plate with a blue stripe across it. The stripe is somewhat reflective. I have read that these plates are for police officers and their family members....Is there a written law that says this is illegal??

You are a moron for buying the fake thin blue line plate. If you aren't a police officer, you don't need to pretend you are. Having it on your car will do nothing to stop you from getting a ticket. We can tell who is and who isn't a real cop, and don't take lightly to those who pretend to be. Plus, the fact that you can buy the fake thin blue line stickers and decals and license plates, means that they no longer mean anything. So while it's not illegal for you to have it, it's not going to help you any, or gain you any points when you get pulled over.

It may look cool. It may impress some people. However I think you are asking for more trouble then it is worth.

Even if it is legal, you may also be attracting unwanted attention from police officers. I don't think you should be trying to get that type of attention from them considering that speeding ticket you got in march. Wasn't it for almost 90MPH?
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

You're not a cop. Don't pretend to be one. If you or a family are actually in law enforcement, use the badge number and get the real ones.

Re: I dont kno if this is legal...?

The "Thin Blue Line" is, metaphorically speaking, what separates the good guys from the bad guys: The police. The stickers and decals were originally only available to real law enforcement, but now you can buy them online. The procedes from the real stickers and other goods go to support the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. It supports the families of men and women who are killed in the line of duty.

Then you have the fake ones, bought by wannabes and people who think it's going to get them out of a ticket. If I pull someone over with a thin blue line sticker, and they aren't a cop, or a wife/husband of a cop, it's an instant ticket and I peel the sticker off.

Would you put a rainbow sticker on your car if you were not gay? If you're not a Grateful Dead follower would you put the dancin' bear on your window? Why put a "cop" sticker on your car if you are not a cop? You'd be better off putting an FOP donation sticker on your car if you want to raise your chances of getting a reduced ticket.

I never said you couldn't put it on your car. You need to go read what I wrote.

And I can and do peel the stickers off of cars.

                        Good luck, hero.

Is it illegal to peel people's stickers off of their cars? Isn't that defacing their property?

No disrespect, but I'd be pretty mad if someone just peeled a sticker or decal off of my truck.

Sounds to me like redsox is a angry officer. I know if you pulled something off of my car that is legal you would be the one in trouble and prosecuted for destruction of property. Just cause your a cop doesn't give you the right to do as you please, I know most cops think that they can do as they please just cause you where a uniform and a little badge doesn't make you any more superior than anyone else. Matter of fact I see more police officers breaking the law than others. Remember that next time you flash your lights and your siren just so you can run a red light. Anyways going back to the original question of its legal go ahead and do what you want just don't whine to us when you get a ticket.

I'm with RedSoxRacer on this. I, too, am a law enforcement officer. Why on earth would you want to portray yourself as a cop when you are clearly not one?!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's a better idea. Start wearing the colors of Hell's Angels. Nothing says you can't "pretend" to be an Angel.

Oh, if you do decide to start wearing their colors, let me know; I'll start looking for your obituary in the paper.
