  • Wraptivo Designer Car Wraps in action!

As we continue moving toward the full launch of Wraptivo Designer Car Wraps we had the chance to do some installation and testing the other day and thought we'd share the results with you.

For those who don't know about Wraptivo yet, this is a vinyl wrap that is available as either a textured material, which we used in these cases, or custom printed and cut for your specific car. The custom print is a ways off yet but when launched you will even be able to upload your own artwork and have your car wrapped in high gloss vinyl using any graphic design you wish!

For these vehicles we used either the carbon fiber or brushed titanium material, staring with a Graphite Metallic PT Cruiser Turbo and the brushed titanium.

Yes, this is open flame used to heat and lightly stretch the material. According to the installer, amateurs use heat guns, pros use a torch.

Took a couple of shots in the driveway at home after washing the car:

And a closeup of the material itself.

We then moved on to the roof of a BMW M3 Coupe, which received the carbon fiber treatment. The current M3 comes from the factory with a genuine carbon fiber roof, unless you order the sunroof, which this car has.

Again, a close up of the material.

Next up, a Jeep Cherokee SRT8 and things got a bit more creative!

    There's that torch again!!

Awesome - I've wanted to wrap an entire car for a while now. If this product falls into a price point for the average consumer, I'll have to give it a go.

Pretty cool, especially for cover-ups that can not be corrected. The results look great. Mike that's your PT Cruiser, isn't it?

Very cool stuff for those seeking a wrap or custom graphics.

That carbon fiber is VERY authentic looking. I foresee that being a top seller.

I have to say that the Carbon Fiber even feels like the real thing once on the car. Amazing texture. These guys are definitely pro's. If amateurs use heat guns what do you call those that use a hair dryer

By the way Mike your PT looks sweet.

What is the average service life of the wrap? Does the wrap need to be protected in the traditional sense? This does seem to be an ideal solution to many cars (such as my older truck that is showing early signs of CC failure)

I believe the website said 3 years. To me that seems short, but I guess it depends on the environment and treatment. Likely they are being conservative on their claims.

So you might use this then to put your company logo on the side of your cargo van, but be able to remove it should you want to sell the van? How much would a thing like that cost?

They have other types of car wraps that are probably better suited for something like that, but yeah, you could.
