  • I don't believe anything I read on this forum anymore.

Why should I? Anytime anybody post an opposing point of view the post or thread is deleted with a reason like the thread went off topic????. If you go through every post and remove any negative replies that makes the information biased.

Newport Viper asked a question and I gave him an honest unbiased opinion. Obviously you don't want any unbiased opinions or constructive criticism. You must not even care to improve your products or give a **** about what your customers think.

This is not a forum, it is an ADVERTISEMENT.

I haven't been following the posts too closely recently, so I'm not aware of the situation of which you speak, agentf1.

Having said that *I assume* you may have unknowingly broken a forum rule.

Although we're members of this forum, we're also guests. That means one is welcome here as long as one works by the rules. If one breaks those rules, then eventually the moderators will have to act, and sometimes a one can have one's invitation rescinded. I know of some on other forums that have had this unpleasant experience.

Each forum is different, with varying rules and policing of these rules. The moderators have this privilege and right.

I looked for the forum rules and found it buried in some category. For the benefit of all members it, probably, would be good for it to be placed as a 'Sticky' at the head of each category.

Anyway, here are the forum rules. Click here.

I'm not criticising you, nor blaming you for anything. As I said, I don't know what has actually transpired for you to make this post.

I'm just trying to help by providing some extra information to cool things down.

    I hope this helps.

      Hi Frank,

Even a casual reading of any of your posts on CorvetteForum shows that your are very emotional about Zaino. I mean it's pretty easy to see by the words you use. It's as though you're on a crusade against Meguiar's and for Zaino.

One of our members asked a question and you didn't answer the question, you posted your opposing opinion and took the thread off-topic. To date, every time you post here it's not to contribute something positive, but to start trouble for your own personal reasons.

This is incorrect. Where's your proof?

Newport Viper asked a question and I gave him an honest unbiased opinion.
Newport Viper didn't ask you for your opinion on why you don't like NXT, he asked if you have switched from Zaino to NXT, why did you switch. You have not switched, so you cannot answer the question. Then you took the thread off-topic.

Your bias shows in almost every post you make in the Car Care forum of CorvetteForum and has every since NXT Tech Wax came out. It's very apparent to anyone that reads that forum.

Obviously you don't want any unbiased opinions or constructive criticism. You must not even care to improve your products or give a **** about what your customers think.
We encourage feedback and Meguiar's has one of the best Customer Care Service departments in this industry. The sole purpose is to take care of our customers, it's ridiculous for you to make these kinds of statements. Plus, Meguiar's is always improving their formulas when new technology is available. Recently we added a new forum specifically for people to tell us what they think, Meguiar's Polls

This is not a forum, it is an ADVERTISEMENT.

Don't be ridiculous, even a casual perusal of the threads here clearly demonstrates there is a ton of helpful information available to help people. Your statement is inaccurate and false.

Go ahead, you can delete this one now...
Frank, my job is to help you get the best results from your time, money and efforts when using Meguiar's products. I'm even happy to help you get the best results using other companies products as a lot of what I do is teach good technique, and you can use good technique with any product.

What I and the other moderators don't want to do is delete your posts or ban you. You just take this out into the forum world and bad mouth Meguiar's. (You do this already). We can't sit around and babysit you every time you come on to our forum.

If you have a complaint about Meguiar's products, then post it to the Customer Care Hotline

If you have a suggestion, the post it in our New Product Suggestions forum.

Please don't cause trouble for the sake of causing trouble. There are many, many good people here on this forum willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help you.

You know, this is a manufacturer's forum, sponsored by the manufacturer. Sponsors of other publicly available media (a TV show, for example) regularly exert influence on the content, and if they can't, frequently pull their sponsorship. One of the driving ideas behind public television in the beginning was no sponsors = no sponsor influence.

It is therefore, in my opinion, unreasonable to expect this forum to be devoid of sponsor influence. If you want a forum that doesn't have that kind of influence, go to one of the more "public" ones. (which shall remain nameless, so don't ask me).

And, while I'm thinking about it, since this is and will continue to be a forum for and about Meguiar's products, how to use them, how to select them, and the results from them, comparisons to competing products (including converted user stories), whether made by members or by MOL management should not be allowed. What I mean is, if the "I used to use ABC wax, but now I use Meguiar's" or "This XYZ user came to our Detail Day and left a proud Meguiar's user" threads are prohibited, we won't have to go thru this stuff, and then "can't we all just get along?"

I think you have a valid point here. But now it's a Catch-22 situation. If someone writes a post like you describe and a Moderator deletes it, then we're in trouble for deleting that post.

For what its worth... I have found all the info on MOL very helpful, fair and accurate, well worth the time to read and contribute to. Thanks to Meguiars and the people at Meguiars I have the best looking finish possible, couldn't be happier! This has the most friendly group of people out of any message board out there and I hope we can keep it that way.

                        Hey,

                        Just to add...

As the Super Moderator, I have a job to do. I have to make sure the topic fits the appropriate forum, monitor bad language and of course, try to answer questions to the best of my ability. I do not get paid; it is a volunteered position for which I give as much time as I can.

Posts will get moved to the appropriate forum. To keep a professional look, I often do not use re-directs. So, if you do not see a particular post, please use the Search function, as the post will be there in another forum. Posts that blatantly abuse the Forum Rules and Regulations will be removed and only after a lengthy process of giving every chance to the poster to correct it. Thankfully, these kinds of posts are extremely rare on MOL!

The only thing I will edit is when a poster uses foul or inappropriate language as outlined in the Forum Rules. We have people of all ages visiting MOL. As such, the site will keep a level of language appropriate to all age groups.

Meguiar's Online is a friendly place to visit, and it will remain that way.

I read your rules and clearly I did not break any. If everybody else is OK with censorship thats fine by me but I am not into censorship and find the information on here to be biased and am extremely turned off by what goes on here. As I said in the beginning of this post this forum has lost all credability IMHO. Don't bother banning me as I won't be back and I will be finding substitutes for any Meguiars products that I am currently using. I will continue to frequent autopia and some of the other detailing forums that don't censor their post and are willing to let us enthusiast post honest opinions about a product whether they sell it or not.

Our goal here on Meguiar's Online is provide a fun and open discussion forum where people can come to ask questions and get help. Many of our members also offer help with their experience with our products.

In an effort to extend to you an olive branch of peace, because you say you don't like our NXT Tech Wax, are their some products in our line that you do like that I can send you as a goodwill gesture on our part?

Don't you think it's a little unrealistic to expect Meguiar's to NOT think that their products are the best?

I like to think in analogies.

Imagine that you invite a new acquaintance over for dinner. You all sit around, eat, share some, and he meets your family. After a while, he says, "You know, I don't think your daughter's so pretty. I don't think she's nearly as pretty as another girl I know, who's REALLY pretty. As a matter of fact, I think there's a LOT of girls prettier, and here's why...."

                              That's what you're doing.

I don't think there's anything wrong AT ALL with threads saying why a user switched from someting else to Meguiar's. Meguiar's is paying the bill for this place, and we all get to use the information for free. A company is allowed word of mouth advertising inside its own website. I don't think there's any pretense of altruism here, nor promise of balance, and it's mighty selfish to think that there should be. It's pretty cool that it's as laid back as it is about such things.

If I disagreed so much, and wanted even handed altruism by MY definition of how things should be slanted, then I'd start my own website. But that's just me, you might want to do something else.
