Re: Paul Dalton in HD!! Very well done!

The use of Quick Wax as a clay lube is probably to showcase as many 3M products as possible in the video. 3M doesn't make a dedicated clay lubricant or spray detailer suitable for claying, so the Quick Wax is probably the closest product to a clay lubricant.

Also, this video is probably aimed at potential clients, not the anal detailers/nitpickers/haters.

Outstanding video, Paul!! At first it was starting to look like a Top Gear film on detailing, the production values were that high!!

As for the comments RE: Quick Wax as a clay lubricant - it does appear that he was doing this on a wet vehicle so that may have helped. Depending on the lubricity offered by this product when wet it could be suitable for use as a clay lube, and perhaps using it on a wet surface helps an otherwise borderline product. It's really hard to say for sure, so maybe Paul will chime in on this.

Keep in mind that when we recommend a product for a certain appliation (like Quik Detailer for clay lube) it's because we know you will get consistent, repeatable results. We know that other products can and are used with excellent results, but there are so many variables that to simply say "use a spray wax" or "use soapy water" leaves you open for potential problems. Read enough detailing forums and you'll see people having great success using soapy water for clay lube, but they don't always tell you what their dilution ratio was, or what soap they used. Read enough detailing forums and you'll come across someone who used soapy water and their clay started to fall apart. Too many variables, therefore, for us to simply say "use soapy water as a clay lube". We know you'll get consistent results using Quik Detailer, and we like our customers to be happy with their entire experience with a Meguiar's product.

Thanks for posting Joe, First time I've seen it and it was very nicely done. Man, I feel like going out and detailing a car today.

I've seen Pauls other work and I have to say I always enjoy watching the vids. Great work Paul!

I enjoyed the video, it was really well made. Maybe some of the 3m big wigs can push you to try some of the Meg's stuff. Good to see you posting here.

Not being one that waits for others (at least not when I feel answers might take long, if ever, to arrive) I have went and tried it. I would be curious to hear what others that tried it think of it.

It works. I have tried it on and off over the years. We use 3M and Meguiars red clay and it doesn't break down the clay

                            Recently tested it with #135.

Get this for a quickie wash and wax type service. Wash, clay w/#135, wipe down. Your clayed, your waxed, your done!
