Re: Paul Dalton in HD!! Very well done!
Nice video Paul!
On the topic of using a spray-on wax with detailing clay; a few times during our Saturday classes at Meguiar's someone would accidentally grab Meguiar's maroon bottle of Quik Wax and use it as a clay lube thinking it was Meguiar's Quik Detailer since both bottles are the same shape, size and color.
When used with the white clay bar that comes in Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit the Quik Wax would dissolve and make the white clay bar gooey.
In a class with 20 to 30 people in it this would usually look bad until someone would point out that the lube wasn't a lube but was in fact a spray-on wax and then wipe the gooey residue off the car.
I don't know if this happens with all spray-on waxes and all detailing clay but it did happen with Meguiar's Quik Wax and Meguiar's Quik Clay. This led me to remove all the bottles of Quik Wax on the wire racks in the Training Garage and place them in the product cupboards first thing in the morning before the classes started just to prevent someone from accidentally mixing Quik Wax with Quik Detailer.
Usually, it's best to use a dedicated clay lubricant with detailing clay unless the manufacture recommends otherwise.
FWIW
Mike Stoops, you could test this and verify, I don't have any Quik Wax with me or I would.
