Like others mentioned, their price drop is probably in line with the XBOX and PS3 drops... I also agree where the wii is mostly good for group games/little kids. Most of the Wii titles are shovelware(junk), and a bunch that appeals to kids. However there are several good games on the wii targeted for more adult players.. such as smash brothers, zelda, etc. Also keep in mind that each Wii controller sets will cost you 60-80(wiimote+nunchuck+motionplus). Xbox is great for online group play & more of the popular titles/larger variety of better games, which arent shovelware. PS3 has limited exclusives such as GOW3, GT5(whenever they actually decide to release)... (Yes, even though Wii can be modded, its not great because they dont release enough good titles. Yes I have all 3 systems. No I'm not threadcrapping.) Depending on your kid's ages and interests those are my thoughts to the current gen systems.

Thanks to everyone who helped me make an informed decision on buying a gaming system. I purchased a Wii for my boys today. I am the father of 4 boys, and my 3rd son passed away 9-6-09. I wanted to get something fun that the whole family could enjoy, and I think you've helped me do that. Thanks again.

I'm glad we could help you make an informed decision, you guys are going to love the Wii!

I'm sorry to hear about your son, I can only hope that time will make it better for you. Quality family time in front of the Wii will hopefully bring your family closer together during a brutally rough time.
If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to record the event, how can you be certain that there was a tree or even a forest to begin with?
