I am restoring my '64 bel air to as original as I can. Would it make a difference, on value, if I used a base coat clear coat vs a single stage?

Re: Restoring a classic car
It will be easier to work with if you get a BC-CC but lacquer would be more appropriate for that model of car. I'm in the same boat for my car, I'm only getting the nose, hood and passenger side front quarter panel repainted but still.James - 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais

Re: Restoring a classic car
this particular years they used a metalic fawn. They used this particular color for only 3-5 years. So a clear coat would help hold the metalic but it would not necessarly hold the value of the car. Am I understanding you all right?Sleepy

The color that you see is what we want to do again. We have been told by some people that we need to keep it as original as possible so the value of the car remains at its highest. If that makes scense.Sleepy
