      Morning,

I believe that is a 1963 Ford Galaxie you have in the above picture you posted. Unless it was modified???

The 1962 had the metal side skirts and I believe that was the only year that they did. Man...you Chevy guys always miss the little details...

Tim that has the wrong fenders for a 63. 63 engine badges were up on the side almost to the front headlights. 62 badges were lower behind front wheel wells.63 had different side trimand rear 1/4 panels had a slight curve to the rear that blended with tail lights.

The Emblems on the 1/4's is Galaxie 500 XL if that sheds any light.

63 has engine badge at front of fender and galaxie between door and wheel well.63 has different side trim then 62. Different sheet metal all together.Would post pictures from galaxie forum if i was smart enough to cut and paste or link.

We are talking about Shyneman's picture he posted above right? Just want to make sure as I know the original picture posted at the beginning of this thread is a 1962, that I am certain.

I did not know that about the 1963....I thought the badges were about mid way on the fender unlike the 62 which had them at the bottom of the panel????? But what I can not get from Frank's picture is the angle of the rear quarter panel by the tail-lights; It just looks different to me from the side photo.

What year do you think is in Frank's photo? I am pretty sure that is not a 1964, or at least I think I am....

I think the 500XL model started around the 1962 but they had that model in later years as well....

On 1/4 panel of 63 was a fake looking lourver design, noscript.
                    Still a great looking ride.
Grew up in a mixed ford/chevy family and it still is.

Agreed. Like I said, I am pretty certain that is a 1962 in the original post because of the metal side skirts on the fender.

But what do you think is the year in Shyneman's photo?? Unless it has been modified somewhat, which is quite possible...

We miss the little details, or do we just spend to much time driving our Chevy's instead of having them broke down in the garage like you Ford guys? You guys get all the little details because you have so much alone time with them while they're laid up in the garage

They make so much money in parts, they could support all of the big three!
