    Re: Saddest movie you've seen?

Saddest "movie" I have ever watched was not a movie/fiction.

It was a footage from camera on one of sniper observation posts during siege of Sarajevo. Those posts were on top of the hills surrounding Sarajevo blocking routes in and out of it with a death grip.

Just like every war creates war profiteers this one was not an exception. Given enough money anything could have been bought, even the safe passage out of besieged Sarajevo through those same routes where everyone else met their death by a sniper bullet.

Needless to say there was an organized group similar to "coyottes" running this highly profitable human smuggling business. Man on the inside would recruit clients, collect the money and organize the passage. Part of the money would go to sniper that was in on the deal and supposed to man the post at that time to put the gun down and let those that paid pass.

Among people that went to "coyottes" handing over all of their earthly posessions (when you are buying chance to live price is always everything you have, and often more than what you can ever have) was a young couple, madly in love with each other inseparable no matter what till death does them apart, not even by their ethnical and religious background at the time members of their ethnicities and religions were killing each other in that same town, that was just looking to get to peacefull place where they could live happily and have a family.

When their turn to make a run came they have followed instructions and went into "no man's land". That is where the footage starts, as you see them hurriedly going down the path with few bags in their hands getting closer in camera's view, him several steps ahead of her. Then something happens that is not supposed to happen. You hear click of a metal. You hear gun firing. You see him falling down. You can hear her scream dropping her bags and body lunging forward toward him all in same moment just to hear another shot and see her falling down too.

Unlike him she was not killed instantly. With what was probably last of the life left in her she managed to crawl to him, hug him, and that is how she passed away, with her arms embracing him. Admira Ismić (her) and Boško Brkić (him) were not separated even by death and they were burried together too, becoming known as "Romeo and Juliet of Sarajevo" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romeo_a...et_in_Sarajevo).

I am not kind of a guy that gets moved easily. Some might say I am even somewhat desensitized by the experiences. I have seen footages of war horrors that I wish I have never seen as memory of them will stay in me for the rest of my life but none of that knocked me down on my knees, yanked my heart out of the chest and had such a deep impact like footage of death of Admira and Boško.

That is the saddest "movie" I have ever seen.

To this day it is not known who is responsible for their death but whoever it is I hope that they have special place in Hell and have already found their way to it.

May Admira and Boško rest in peace and their love for each other forever.

It has been many years since the time I saw it and that was the only time I saw it yet every time I remember it I get impacted just the same as the first time so if you will excuse me ...

I think a pretty sad movie was Gran Torino. I like sad movies maybe I'll watch the stripped pajamas one soon.
