17 year of marriage

As of yeasterday I have been married 17 years to the same lady. (sigh) It seems like yesterday, but I would not want to relive the past 17 years. Wow what a journey. I wonder If I can collect on some of those bets that my wife's family made of how long we would be married. Let's see $5 times 17 years compounded daily ... HUMMM!!

Congrats. It wasn't my in laws that made the bet, it was my parents. They didn't think anyone could put up with me for more than 3-5 yrs. and it has been 34+

My first marriage was 14 years, remarried and going strong at almost 3 now.....

First I want to thank everyone for their kind responses.

I don't think there is just one thing that you can do to have a long marriage. The best advice I got from my Dad several years ago. He has been married to my Mom for 44+ years. He told me to love her and to treat her as if you are still going out. I still try hard everytime that we go out to treat her as if we were still dating. With that I have been going out with my best friend for 19 years.

We are 19+ and counting. Grand Parents were married 67 years before they passed.
