    Should pass then...
I'll look into that. I would take a guess that by adding this, there would be no need for octane booster, mystery oil or any other additives? Thanks a lot everybody, I'm going to try it out and hopefully have new results next week.

UPDATE: ok, I bought the CRC Guranteed To Pass formula and inserted it with 16 gallons of Arco 91 premium gas. The arco around here (part of BP) doesn't offer grade 93 gas. Is that going to be a problem? Now, the label says to insert with gas and drive until nearly empty and then fill up with more gas. Does that mean I have to drive non-sop until I'm running on nearly empty? Because I filled up and drove for about 30 minutes running some errands and came home. Should I keep driving or can I save my gas 'til later?

MM Oil is good for upper cylinder lubrication, as well as cleaning out the fuel injectors. It will also burn off any piston carbon deposits.

Try the other stuff if you like, but I would not hesitate to use MM Oil at a later date.

You can a bottle (or half of it) of CRC Guatantee Pass into a half full tank or a quarter full tank. This way, the cleaner will be highly concentrated and may work more effectively. From my experience, CRC Fuarantee Pass works immediately. You can try going through smog test with the stuff in your tank.

Also, since the main problem here is excessive NOx, I urge you to use octane booster during the test. Higher octane fuel is the most cost effective temporary solution to reduce high NOx emission.

One the tank is empy re-fuel with supreme gas and octane booster? I've also been told to use grade 87 gas as 87 burns cooler and might lower the combustion temps enough.

My take on it: a "cooler" combustion could be translated in a sense to more "pollution" because not as much of the air fuel mixture is being ignited and burned up in the engine, therefore left to pass out the tailpipe. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what's going on here, that's the opposite of what you want at the present time.

Oh, one more thing. California only allows 20 days to complete the registration of your vehicle without penalty; not 30 I believe however, if your car fails the smog testing, you can get an extension from the DMV.

Arco is not exactly known for quality gas. You may want to try some quality stuff.

I used the premium with the CRC formula. It says I'm guranteed to pass so I doubt I'll need the octane boost or mystery oil now? And if I do use it should I go again with premium gas (this time from chevron) or just use the fuel alone? Would grade matter this time?

"If you read the back of the bottle in the fine print is says that it is guaranteed to pass if all other smog equipment in on the vehicle and functioning properly."

Got this quote on another forum. Now if your smog equipment is functioning properly in the first place you wouldn't need this product and in your case the guarantee is void since you fail in the first time.

This is from amazon: "Guaranteed to Pass Emissions Test Formula restores your entire fuel system to like new condition. It doesn't cheat or fool state emissions tests. This unique formula contains the maximum allowable cleaning chemistry to reduce carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, and emissions. Cleans carburetors, fuel injectors, intake valves, and removes harmful gum and varnish deposits. Pass your state emissions test guaranteed!" So now if it doesn't pass time time, It might be the cat or O2.

It could had been the gas grade I was using before or the fact that I didn't allow the engine to be warmed up before taking the smog check.

I'm not sure how to answer that, now that you are using CRC, but I do know that MM Oil will give you a cleaner burning engine, as well as clean out the fuel system too.

It's pretty understandable in my opinion. This way I would know for sure I would need a new cat or O2 sensor if I fail again. I'll still add in 104 Octane Boost and Marvel Mystery Oil with premium gas from Shell to up my chances.
